1.Gumbeaux’s Cajun Café
You say, “So worth the drive. The food is incredible and inexpensive. I just got back from New Orleans and it tastes just like the food there” and “Great food great atmosphere, most of the staff have been there forever and really make you feel part of the family. They always have great specials and 50¢ shrimp night. Their food is amazing and the portions are huge. Also the best banana pudding I have ever put in my mouth (sorry grandma ) lol. Seriously we go here on a regular basis and always refer our friends, clients and family. Check it out you will not be disappointed.”

1. (tie) Gumbeaux’s Cajun Cafe, Douglasville and Adele’s Authentic Cajun Experience, Roswell
The AJC dining team’s specialist in Southern and Neighborhood Fare Jenny Turknett says, “Both of my top picks serve the spicier cajun fare and both have mastered the depth of flavor frequently neglected in favor of naked heat. Opt for the sampler platters at each so that you can taste a range of dishes including shrimp creole, jambalaya and gumbo. At Gumbeaux’s, which opened in 1994, don’t miss the jambalaya bursting with smoky heat. At Adele’s, a relative newcomer, having opened in the last 6 months, try the shrimp creole, which is brothy, tangy and packed with tomato flavor.”

Love, love, love GUMBEAUX’S in Douglasville. We drove from Ohio just to try their food. Wonderful place to eat and great people. We’re planning another trip down. Thanks!

Gumbeaux’s in Douglasville is the best Cajun food in the Atlanta area! Robby is from Louisiana and prepares authentic Cajun dishes. The menu has something for everyone. The only problem is in deciding what item to order, because everything is delicious!

For the person who said Red Lobster, really?? Their seafood is not the best either. We basically stopped eating there.

Pappadeaux is ok, but I would not consider it the best in town.

Right now the best Cajun restaurant I have been to lately is Adele’s in Roswell. Awesome Po Boys, and great gumbos! Chef Marc used to work at some awesome restaurants in New Orleans and he brings his experience to the Atlanta area. It is a must try!!!

Adele’s in Roswell is the best! Having grown up on the gulf coast, with family in NOLA, I know creole and New Orleans cooking. Adele’s has amazing po’boys. The bread is the best I’ve had outside of NOLA. The seafood is always cooked to perfection and is never tough. And, that’s just a start! The gumbo, red beans, étouffée, jumbalya, always take me home. The chef specials are a treat and we finish off with a chicory coffee and biegnet.

We have introduced many to Adele’s, all love it. It’s not just the food that will keep you coming back. The ambiance, the friendly service and the feeling of family makes you want to stay.

GG’s Fine Foods has the real deal if you’re looking for Creole! I came across GG at the Roswell Farmer’s Market. She sells frozen heat and eat Creole items like Crawfish Pie (her Grandmother’s recipe!), Seafood Gumbo (the best I’ve had outside Louisiana!) and other delicious dishes. She had a restaurant in New Orleans and relocated here after Hurricane Katrina. GG’s Fine Foods has a website where you can contact GG. Call her, she loves to visit & she can help you with all your Louisiana food cravings!

You’ll have to come to my house, because everything we have tried in ATL just sucks. Even Gumbeaux’s in Douglasville had a nasty gumbo. You could tell there was no love put into the food. But I’m a little biased, being married to a true Cajun who can cook up a storm.

Henry’s Louisiana Grill in Acworth without a doubt!! They are hands down the best and we have been to a lot of Cajun restaurants around the country since my husband loves Cajun food, music, etc.. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it, and if you have then you know what I am talking about.

Are you kidding me? There’s no contest! Adele’s Authentic Cajun Cuisine in Roswell has the most delicious, delectable, and authentic Cajun food anywhere! And on top of that, they’re fun, they want to get to know you, and everyone there does their best to make sure your experience is the best! Adele’s!!!!!

Henry’s Lousianna Grill in Acworth has the best Cajun/Creole food in Atlanta Metro Area. Been all around the Cajun cities of New Orleans, Lafayette, Breux Bridges and Mamou Lousianna. If you want the taste of authentic cajun food, then make reservations and make the trip to Henry’s in Acworth.

Cajun’s Cooking is where I would go in Hiram GA. Run by a true Cajun. Delish, fun – they are creative and always experimenting with new recipes to please their guests – they want you to feel at home and part of the family. I can’t say enough – worth the drive from East Cobb!

Henry’s in Acworth is THE BEST !!! Love cajun food. Being from NOLA, we eat cajun anytime we can. We eat out a lot. We’ve eaten at some of the other restaurants mentioned. But nothing beats the Ooh La La and the great hospitality at Henry’s. Worth the drive!!

Henrys in Acworth is a joke, Cajun/creole? The food there is far off base as the distance from the big easy to Atlanta , he might fool those folks in Acworth, but not a magazine st native
Best I’ve found is Adele’s in Roswell, no smoke and mirrors menu or faux chef

Gumbeaux’s wins hands down. Henry’s is ok, but if I wanted Zatarin’s cooked out of the box, I would do it myself @ home.
