Though versions of this near-legendary Mac and Cheese recipe can be found at other spin offs from the Sam & Dave’s family, credit must be given to Dave Roberts of Community Q for creating this gooey masterpiece. This blend of cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan cheeses with over sized rigatoni noodles made this Atlanta’s unrivaled favorite mac and cheese, and rightly so.

Halloween: Imagine being cast in a zombie flick as humans chased by the undead. Now in its second year, Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse transforms a sprawling abandoned truck stop into a haunted attraction. Catch the brain-eaters at Safety Wolf Recreation Outpost  in Conley through Oct. 31.

Halloween: Netherworld Haunted House’s custom Hollywood-quality sets and special effects have contributed to the haunt being named the No. 1 haunted house in America in 2009 by Fangoria. It continues through Nov. 5 at the Netherworld site in Norcross.

Exhibition, visual art: “The AIDS Memorial Quilt” was founded in 1987 as a poignant memorial, a powerful tool for use in preventing new HIV infections, and the largest ongoing community arts project in the world. With more then 40,000 panels, the blocks on display at the Museum of Design Atlanta will be changed out each month Oct. 7-Jan. 1.
