The AJC dining team’s specialist in International Cuisine Gene Lee says, “This cozy Emory coffee bar puts out a stellar product prepared with intelligence using Intelligentsia brand coffee beans. Each coffee is prepared individually and with devices resembling something from high school chemistry. But fear not, this is one fine cup of robust coffee. And also try the velvety-brown Americano; it rivals anything I had in San Francisco.”

I have a few I frequent:
A. Octane Coffee. They serve Counter Culture Coffee, which is direct/fair trade and DELICIOUS.
B. Dancing Goats. Located in Decatur, but totally worth the drive. They’re supplied and operated by Batdorf and Bronson, which is a direct/fair trade roaster located in Atlanta.
C. Aurora Coffee. There’s one in the Virginia Highlands that I like to hit up. Had one of the best carmel lattes of my life there.

Thousand Hills Coffee House in Roswell is by far the best!

They have a good, toasty, aromatic roast with very low bitterness and acidity. It’s got a caramel like roundness to it.

And I love how they serve their latte in a big cup with a pattern drawn on the top.
And love that their coffee is Fair Trade, benefiting people in Rwanda.
And all that greatness for only $3.50!

How long before some “clever” asshat posts “My house.” We should start a pool on the over/under. It ALWAYS happens in every “best of” thread. It’s only a matter of time.

I can’t nominate anyone because I was always partial to that triple strength nasty rocket fuel they dished up at Army mess halls when I was in the Army………………

Land of a Thousand Hills – the coffee is fantastic, the mission is amazing. It goes beyond “fair trade” to “community trade” – providing farmers with the support they need to run their coffee businesses & the prices per pound needed to provide wages that can support the workers & their families. The mission statement, “Drink coffee, do good” does exactly what it says.

Can’t see paying the outrageous prices for this “designer” coffee. I find it hard to beat either QT or RaceTrack. For pennies over a buck, you get a large coffee that actually tastes good. If you are a coffee snob, buy the best and then pour it into your designer cup so no one knows you drink the house brand.

McDonald’s has good coffee, but I wish they would give individual creamers like they used to. That way we can add as much or as little as we want. Also, the McDonald’s in Times Square uses real buttter for their pancakes ; why can’t the ones in Georgia do the same?

They took my house after I had a slite problem with a casino in “Mississippi.” If the lotto had not got me hook on gamblin I would have not been hook on “cokaine” per say. I still regret hurting that girl who was a quote un quote lady of the night but I cant live in the past now more. I think she forgive me. For the best, most consistent, and reliable cup of coffee anywhere (not just Atlanta) it’d Dunkin Donuts for me. Better than McDs, Waffle House, QT or any of the other fast food chains (although Chick-Fil-A coffee is close). When I want to pay more than a couple of dollars, I prefer Caribou over Starbucks. Some of the other places sound great – the coffee is best when roasted on premise and ground before brewing, but I’m not anywhere near any of the other places involving monkeys or goats.
