1. Grand Champion BBQ

Grand Champion BBQ has the best macaroni and cheese (shown bottom right), you say. (Becky Stein)
You have tipped your hat to Grand Champion BBQ, with many saying they’ve brought mac and cheese to a “whole new level.” Grand Champion’s macaroni and cheese is considered less oily than others and gets shout-outs for “the power of gouda.”

Though versions of this near-legendary Mac and Cheese recipe can be found at other spin offs from the Sam & Dave’s family, credit must be given to Dave Roberts of Community Q for creating this gooey masterpiece. This blend of cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan cheeses with over sized rigatoni noodles made this Atlanta’s unrivaled favorite mac and cheese, and rightly so.

So, I love me some mac and cheese, and I have 2 votes, one for Sam’s BBQ1, and one vote for Aspen’s steak house (I go to the one in Marietta), their macaroni, bacon & three cheeses, is AMAZING. Just the right amount of bacon, I order mine without the shallots they put in it, because in my opinion, shallots don’t belong in mac and cheese… but damn, it is awesome.

Ok Cafe.
To the person who wrote the comment about JJs, just because an area is predominately Black doesn’t make it a ghetto. That’s not funny. It’s a stereotype that just won’t go away.

Gladice Night Chicken and Waffles in Union City has the best Mac and Cheese very down south homemade but I have been told it all depends on the chef that is there when the mac is the best.

Community Q, Sam and Daves, Sam’s BB1, any other offshoot from these guys – is the best. They published the recipe in the AJC a few years back – I make it myself, people drool over it, but they still kill me on their delivery……

Gotta vote for Grand Champion BBQ in Marietta/Roswell. Best Mac and cheese. Similar to BBQ 1 but better and not as oily. Sams/BBQ1 Mac has way to much oil in it. The ribs there are awesome too.

No question, Sam’s #1 BBQ in East Cobb. Their pulled pork and ribs are great but after my last party, all anyone could talk about was the mac and cheese.

Stats #1, Community Q #2, the rest of the list is irrelevent…I have been studying this subject for years and I consider myself an expert in the field. Most of the sample population comes from ITP, so all you OTP places lose for being outside of the city.

My Granny makes the best m&c. She uses about a cup of lard, elbow mac, whole milk and goat cheese. She bakes it in the oven with about 14 strips of bacon on top. It’s a bit heavy but I just love it!!!
