The AJC dining team’s specialist in Southern and Neighborhood Fare Jenny Turknett says, “Pine Street Market is my go-to place for sausage. Their products contain no filler, only locally sourced pork and seasonings. It’s the smooth texture and the intensely rich pork flavor of the sausage at Pine Street that secures my vote. While they offer an array of seasonal flavors, the roasted-poblano remains my favorite.”

@Native Georgian… Cordele is ok, but too big city for me. I preferred the sausages my grandparents got from the butcher shop (when it was there) in Montezuma, across the river from where I grew up in Oglethorpe.

Times change, people change, locations change… Patak handles the call now & comparing country sausage to Polish sausage is comparing a dog to horse. Not the same critter.

Heywood’s Meat Haus in east cobb is hands down the best in the city. What a great addition to the area. Patrick,Sargent,Xavier and the gang are top shelf. Their knowledge and love for their passion set’s them apart from Whole Foods,Harry’s or even Patak’s. Been to all three of those and they’re not even close. Keep up the good work bra

Pine Street Market for sure. I drive all the way from near Canton for their sausages, salamis, and bacon. Can’t be beat.

Heywood’s Meat Haus in Eastlake Shopping Center, Marietta has the best sausages! They make them in-house. The prices are reasonable. We’ve tried all the flavors, from the breakfast sausage to the chorizo. Sweet italian is my favorite. (Try the smoked ribs, too – they’re amazing)

Heywoods Provision Co. in Marietta. Only 3 months old.Grew up in a German neighborhood next to an Italian one. They make about 65 products in house. Use only naturally occurring nitrates and nitrites. No phosphates. Does a lot with White Oak Pastures. Processes pork and beef items for many of Atlanta’s top restaurants. The best sausages, Italian, German, Irish, English and breakfast you can find. Should be illegal.

Shield’s Meat Market in Emory village has the best Italian (both hot and sweet) and breakfast sausage. They are the owner’s recipes and he makes them right there in the store.

This is easy — Heywood’s in East Cobb. They’re the new butcher shop in town and have become a staple for our family’s grocery shopping.

The sausage is awesome — and I’ve tried them all – Patak is good and been around, but there’s a new game in town!

In the metro area, it’s Patak in Austell.
But the best sausage I’ve ever eaten in my life is Rooster Pepper Sausage from Williams Grocery in Haralson. Jimmy Carter, our state’s former president, agrees with me. RIP Bruce Williams.
