The AJC dining team’s specialist in Southern and Neighborhood Fare Jenny Turknett says, “Pine Street Market is my go-to place for sausage. Their products contain no filler, only locally sourced pork and seasonings. It’s the smooth texture and the intensely rich pork flavor of the sausage at Pine Street that secures my vote. While they offer an array of seasonal flavors, the roasted-poblano remains my favorite.”

OK Patak friends, family and employees, we get it. AJC please do a better job identifying duplicate entries or give up on the “best of” voting.

Please stop mentioning Patak’s! They do enough business already to remain successful so I don’t need others increasing the line, though the line does move fast.
@Sausage: I am not a friend (though they are friendly), a family member or an employee. Just a fan and an Austell resident that eats really well.

Patak! I’m not an employee, family, or friend – used to work down the road from the store. Best smoked anything in the city! People drive MILES to get to this place to get their wonderful meats!

The Spotted Trotter…I think they might have a store but their biggest crowds are at the Peachtree Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.

Patak’s sausage is a regular item on the menu at the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Oconee. I’ve also had it in Augusta. It’s the best.
So many people voting are for the same place because there probably aren’t that many sausage companies in Atlanta. You go looking for the best “small plates” and Kessler will talk your ear off with options.

I am sorry so many people know of Patak’s. The line is already long enough. I might add that besides all types of sausages, they also have excellent cold cuts like hams, corned beef, pastrami and excellent quality pork.

I didn’t realize that Weinerz was open to the public again. I’ll have to get back over to Atlanta Rd to hit them up. Their Atlanta Beer brats are awesome.

Wiernerz on Atlanta Road in Marietta, IF you can get there when they’re open. They keep pretty much European hours there. You have to be have a Hausfrau’s hours to catch them open. Definitely not for the 9-5 set.

@ Mike: “Patak fans, seriously, you should take a look at the quality of meat they use. You may change your mind after.”
And you are basing this statement on? You work there and have first-hand knowledge of the cuts of meat they use?
I made a Patak run earlier this week and all of the meats, including the cut steaks, looked top rate. So, unless their is some sort of airbrushing afoot I would say their meat is excellent.
Oh, and Patak’s is the best for sausages.

I’m also a big fan of Patak. We had an Oktoberfest gathering over the weekend, so I made the trek to pick up fresh brats, Polish sausage, and weiss wurst. The best part is when our friends don’t eat the weiss wurst, so there’s more for me. Of course, I had to get smoked liverwurst, landjaeger, Hungarian salami, and a few smoked sausages, too. The taste says enough for me about the quality, and all that cost me ~$50.
Much as I’m psyched to try Spotted Trotter and Pine Street Mkt, these guys have been doing it right since the 80’s.
Danny G- you can pick up some of their stuff (smoked liverwurst!) at YDFM on Sat/Sun. I wouldn’t want to wait in the first-Sat-of-the-month line at Patak anyway.

OH NO, the secret is out..PATAK the most awesome meat market ever. Been going for years and always top quality. My relatives who live in the Midwest and raised hogs and butchered their own say, Patak bacon and meats are the best they ever tasted. And yes, I take a few pounds with, when I travel up that away. Smoked Pork chops, Oh My, delicious as are their sausages. I hope the lines won’t get any longer they might have to expand again..and make the parking lot bigger..

The previous comments communicate that Atlanta is full of folks without Georgia roots and that’s no slam on their choice of Polish saussage, but the best county saussage in Georgia can be found at Stripling’s in the Cordele area – several locations & on the web. I’ve been a customer for almost 3 decades and there’s none better.
