Can always tell when people have never had a decent cupcake because they always yell CamiCakes. Those are the most disgusting gutbombs ever made. Dry, tasteless something-claiming-to-be-cake topped by the most noxiously-sweet congealed mass of cloying sugar mass. Is it any wonder everyone I see walking out of that place is wider than they are tall? I’ve had better cupcakes from a Betty Crocker cake mix and can of frosting, and I wouldn’t eat that unless forced to do so.
The only decent cupcakes I’ve had from a bakery around here are from Henri’s in Buckhead. They still make real desserts without catering to the pigs-in-the-trough.

Atlanta Cupcake Factory is #1! The El Diablo is an amazing chocolate ganache-type, moist flavor explosion not to be missed! Hands down, it is the best chocolate cupcake in the ATL.
Yes, I have tried Metrotainment, Piece of Cake, Gigi’s…nothing compares to that little piece of heaven in the Virginia-Highlands!

Sweet Justice has the most delicious cupcakes around. Ingenious concoctions that disappear from the plates within seconds of their emergence from the box. La’Keitha’s Red Velvet cupcakes are to die for (not of). Their taste stays in your memory, and the smile in your stomach long after the inches have fallen from your hips. This girl’s cupcakes can make even lawyers dance with delight !!!

Edward – well said. I have been to CamiCakes a few times due it being very convenient to me only to be totally underwhelmed every time. As a matter of fact 3 of the 4 I bought last never made it out of the box, sat on the counter for a week and finally went in the trash.
Best I have had are Piece of Cake and Rhodes.

Piece of cake… I tried Amazing Cakes in Mableton(close to home), but she is not consistent. One day hey taste like box cake and the next they are oily, and she is really expensive. I gave her several chances, just did not do it for me!

I am not a fan of CamiCakes at all. I have tried her cupcakes and they were not impressing. I say that because I was expecting a cupcake not based off of a vanilla or chocolate cupcake. The strawberry was dry and the vanilla/chocolate was okay. I have not had GiGi’s yet, but from what I can see she has wayyyyyyyyyy to much icing on her cupcakes. Out of all the cupcake bakeries I have been to, I would have to say Atlanta Cupcake Factory are my favorite because their cakes are actually flavored and not a vanilla or chocolate cake. I didn’t know so many people didn’t know what a real cupcake taste like….so sad!

Jilly’s in Alpharetta by FAR!! They change the selection regularly – LOVE the Chocolate Peanut Butter, Key Lime Coconut, Red Velvet and MANY more! Love the mini’s just the right bite! Also they have sugar free and gluten free! Something for EVERYONE!!!
