1. Tower
The AJC dining team’s Popular Eats specialist Jon Watson says, “For the best overall selection of beer, wine, and liquor, it is tough to beat Tower’s sprawling inventory. For a store their size, I’m always impressed by the depth of their stock, including hard-to-find liquors and craft beers.”

Capital City Liquor on the corner of Howell Mill and Collier. HUGE improvement since the new owners took over a month or so ago. Friendly and knowledgable plus a great selection and agressive pricing!

Beverage World on Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

I have been going there for 6 years and it is by far the best store in town. The staff is very friendly and loyal. They also have a great selection of beer/wine to pick from with good pricing.

The staff is very friendly and super helpful — they will stop what they are doing and walk you to your selection if you can’t find it. Plus the prices and selection are the best I’ve seen in all of metro ATL. Great for a single item purchase and even better if you need to supply for a big party.

Beverage World in Norcross has the best prices I’ve seen on some really nice bottles. If you’re just getting some Mr. Boston it may not be worth the drive if you’re not close, but when you’re going TOP SHELF on your wife/girlfriend or an entire party, it’s definitely worth it, no matter where you are in Atlanta.

Toco Giant has a great beer selection, and their wine selection is very good as well. Their prices are reasonable, and they sometimes have tasting events.

I like Tower off of Buford. Lowest prices i’ve seen in GA. The only other place I buy is Costco for their $25 handle of Kirkland Vodka (rebranded Grey Goose).

I’ll second S&N Package on L’ville Hwy near N DeKalb Mall. It doesn’t look pretty on the outside, but Rocky and Juan run a great shop. They take care of you, remember what you like and don’t like, and always know when to stash something special aside for you before it sells out.

My top three:

1. S&N
2. Toco Giant
3. Smoke Rise Bottle Shop

Are you all kidding ? Or, are these comments from people that perhaps spend toooo much time at these stores ?
There is no question that Decatur Package Store is by far the best not only for the great liquor and beer inventory but the fantastic wine selection and Herb’s vast knowledge of all he sells !

For that special bottle of wine, definitely Atlantic Wine on Roswell Road. They regularly travel to France, Italy, and Spain to determine which vintages to offer. They have great value wines in addition to their high-end selections. Extremely knowledgeable customer service. One of the staff members, Labe Mell, teaches various courses on wine at the Alliance Française d’Atlanta. Highly Recommended.

I have never been to Holiday, but I will. I have crossed checked prices and availability of a few items at Toco Hills Liquor Store and Towers in Doraville, and Towers beats their prices easily.

Are the posters here saying that Holiday is the best, do you mean in availability and price or something else? I think before I say anyone is “best” it will be based on at least these two criteria, then distance to get to them.

Will the best buys be in Gwinnett, Dekalb or Fulton County?

Pretty pathetic effort by people connected to Holiday. I am sure the ISP addresses will reveal all the votes coming from same location. Nice how they consistently plug their website to isn’t it? Given me good reason to never shop them. Anyway, I say 1) Smyrna World of Beverage 2) Mac’s in Midtown.

Let me let you guys in on a little secret. Tower East Wine & Spirits at 223 Moreland Ave. is the best. See Alan Smirin for the best prices in town. It’s not that far and well worth the drive. Enjoy. If you don’t see what you want, he will find it for you. very helpful, great prices.

If we are talking liquor and considering price – then tell me a place better than Kilroy’s got it on the southside. They objectively have WAY better prices than Towers East (you can get a 750ML bottle of Patron Silver for about $10 less at Kilroys than Towers East). They have a great selection of well known top shelf brands. I don’t think they have Ambhar Tequila Anejo, nor Azunia Platinum Blanco, nor Corrido. But if you want a well reconized brand name – Patron, Herradura, Tres Anos – they have them at prices below most other places. Their wine selection is lacking – so if this is “who’s got the best wine selection” then someplace like H&F Bottle Shop will win. But on the objective store price level I have to laugh out loud that people think Tower East is better. And when it comes to a beer place some place like ALE YEAH will probably win.

Love Sherlock’s on Barrett Parkway, great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Huge selection of vodkas and other liquor. I prefer Whitlock Liquor in Marietta for beer, they have about the best selection I’ve ever seen!
