YOUR PICKS
1. Holiday Package Store
You say, “Holiday Wine and Spirits without a question – anytime that I am having a party, my first stop is here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and courteous – not to mention the wide variety of quality products and great prices.
2. Green’s
3. Total Wine
4. Tower
5. Toco Giant
Tower, with locations on Buford Highway and Piedmont Road, is our pick for best liquor store in and around Atlanta. Photo: Hyosub Shin, hshin@ajc.com
OUR PICKS
1. Tower
The AJC dining team’s Popular Eats specialist Jon Watson says, “For the best overall selection of beer, wine, and liquor, it is tough to beat Tower’s sprawling inventory. For a store their size, I’m always impressed by the depth of their stock, including hard-to-find liquors and craft beers.”
2. Total Wine
3. Green’s
4. Sherlock’s
5. Pearson’s

Total Wine is fabulous, but I don’t think they sell liquor — do they?

It’s no contest. Total Wine is head and shoulders above the rest of the competition in both selection and price.

Yes, Total Wine does sell spirits at the vast majority of their stores in addition to wine, but they do have one store location in ATL area that does not sell spirits.

For people who love Belgian beer then the places to go are any of the Green’s Liquors and just and incredible neighborhood convience store across from the original Flying Biscuit on McClendon Ave. called Candler Park Market. They have just an incredible selection of the really good Belgian beers. For those who don’t know about that type of beer need to look into it. You will never go back to drinking Budweiser

It may be a hole in the wall, but I really like
S & N Package Store at Lawrenceville Hwy and McLendon Dr in Decatur.
The parking lot sucks but the selection and prices are good.

1. Either Greens…Buford highway is closer
2. Either Tower….
3. I don’t work for Holiday Package like the people on the first page but they’re not bad. Dekalb Bottle House on Braircliff is the definition of a good local place.
I’m voting all of this on what places get the newest/hard to find beers that get gobbled up in a day. Things like Bells “Hop Slam” were gobbled up by the big stores in 10 minutes and they either sold the bottles individually at a horrible price jack or placed no restrictions on what someone could purchase and sold their stock to one or two people (Tower/Greens). Small guys were at least democratic with their supply.
Regardless….START SELLING ON SUNDAY DEKALB!!!!!

Anyone who would say Little 5 Points Package is one of the best liquor stores in the city is an idiot. That place is the most cookie cutter stereotypical ghetto store I have ever seen. Their selection is a joke and they price-gouge like no place around. Six-pack prices average $2 more than Green’s on Ponce. If you think this place is good for booze – just buy your stuff at Kroger or any ghetto store on Moreland you mook.

re: Total Wine – the state of GA liquor laws only allow two liquor stores per owner; Total with 3 stores, had to make one a wine only store (Green’s and Towers got around this for years by placing licenses in family members names until the state busted them for it in the early 90’s)

Good lord. Did the people at Holiday get their family members to blast post on this thing?
I always like both Green’s on Buford and Ponce. Mac’s in Midtown is pretty solid but they have to cater to Tech students who want to drink swill which means less floor space for better product.

Holiday Wine & Spirits, brought to you by the fine folks from Rivals Hot Dogs, lol!
I like Turtle Creek in Winder too. The best is probably the Five Points Bottle & Growler Shop on the westside in Athens. We need a good package store / growler shop in Loganville.

Total Wine in Kennesaw. Not only is it huge and has anything and everything you could image but it’s inexpensive. They let you mismatch a 6 pack of beer. If you can’t find what you need they will order it. I love this place.

Ha, Holiday seems to be doing some advertising at the top of the page. It’s a pretty legit liquor store, but I’m going Beverage World off Peachtree Industrial all day. Big selection and really solid prices…It’s been my go to spot for a while and it’s never let me down.

My favorite is Green’s (Ponce or Buford Hwy).
I agree all those back-to-back Holiday votes seems fishy. Nice try.
