OUR PICKS

1. FLIP burger
AJC dining specialist Jon Horn says, “While FLIP Burger could win for best shake on creativity alone, with flavors like Cap’n Crunch and Foie Gras, the quality of ingredients and execution is outstanding. Newbies should start with a Nutella and Burnt Marshmellow shake, complete with bubbling liquid nitrogen.”

3. Morelli’s

Zesto has amazing shakes and ice cream in general. You people that like chik fil a shakes are out of your minds. Their “ice cream” is terrible.

Chick Fil A’s peach shake is da bomb! I also like Steak n Shakes’s variety of shakes also; they are very thick, like ice cream. I will only settle for McDonald’s or Dairy Queen’s shakes when locality is a factor. :-)

Miss Georgia Milk, in West End. Milkshakes back in the 1950-1960’s. They where in glass-glasses which kept them cold. Yum-Yum

I don’t think it is made with real ice cream, but I am addicted to Arby’s Jamocha Shakes.

Hey Ron B. there used to be a Miss Georgia in Lakewood Heights back in the 50’s and 60’s. Didn’t know there was still one around. They had the BEST for sure.

A real milkshake is made with hard ice cream, whole milk and flavoring. That leaves out most of the places mentioned here. Such imposters! I go for Steak n Shake myself. The soda shop in Brevard NC is also tops.

I am still angry with Krystal for dropping shakes. My go-to meal was 2 Double Cheese and a Chocolate Shake. I rarely go there anymore—-but if I do—-I get the 2 Double Cheese—then double back across the street to McDonalds for a Chocolate Shake. Uh Huh!

Is there even any such thing as a GOOD milkshake? Why would anyone ever get a milkshake when you can get a Coke?

Dairy Queen or Steak ‘n Shake — it’s a toss up, but whenever I have a craving for a real chocoate milkshake, either of them them satisfy that craving!

But yeah, the Grill in Athens — superb shakes!

Anyone who thinks Steak ‘n Shake is the best needs to get out more. It’s amateur hour at that place. FLIP is the champ, it’s not even close. This list should be for second best.
