A plate of oysters accompanies the Bloody Mary at Six Feet Under, or you can have a raw oyster added to the cocktail. The restaurant's version of the classic drink was both your pick and our pick for best in and around Atlanta. Staff photo.

OUR PICKS

The AJC dining team’s Popular Eats specialist Jon Watson says, “Marsha’s Bloody Mary, which starts with Absolut Peppar and Zing Zang’s, gets the cajun treatment with cayenne salted rim and a shot of stout. I highly recommend adding the optional raw oyster for a great Sunday morning hair-of-the-dog pick me up.”

Dr. Z and Koko – That Rosebud guy really is a jerk…just read the link – thanks for posting. I would never go there if my life depended on it. His attitude toward people is SICK. Thanks for the FYI. There are so many good Bloody Mary’s, but if I had to pick one place, it would be Six Feet Under.
Thanks!

Tavern @ Phipps actually does a pretty good job with theirs, and it is legitimately “homemade” – I see no one has mentioned them yet.

Best: Quattro on 12th and Piedmont at Piedmont Park. Great garnishes!
Worst: Park Tavern. The menu says it’s been “dragged through the garden”. Three rotted olives out of a gallon bucket from Sam’s does not constitute a drag through a garden!

While I have not had all the ones listed on here by FAR the best one I have ever had is at Stienbechs (sp?) in whatever that little area is called where U-joint is. It was a masterpiece.

I have never been to Rosebud and never will based on that link. Not because I am easily offended. Not because I am afraid that chef will be mean to me….simply because that little snippet clearly indicates he is a hater who is not only a chef but thinks he is a comedian. Maybe he is a upset about that rosacia on his forehead? Regardless- what a bitter goose.

Corner Tavern on Edgewood! Steven makes his own “sauce” to mix with the tomato juice, makes his own candied bacon to put on top, and plenty of Old Bay on the rim! You gotta try it!

Before you all open your mouths – look at the sodium content on the label, than add the salt from other ingredients, and voila!!! There is your “great” BM. Too late to be surprised after your heart said “no more” due to the high BP (blood pressure)! Enjoy!!
