Best Bloody Mary

A plate of oysters accompanies the Bloody Mary at Six Feet Under, or you can have a raw oyster added to the cocktail. The restauratn's version of the classic drink was both your pick and our pick for best in and around Atlanta. Staff photo.

OUR PICKS
1. Six Feet Under
The AJC dining team’s Popular Eats specialist Jon Watson says, “Marsha’s Bloody Mary, which starts with Absolut Peppar and Zing Zang’s, gets the cajun treatment with cayenne salted rim and a shot of stout. I highly recommend adding the optional raw oyster for a great Sunday morning hair-of-the-dog pick me up.”

Rosebud. Although I’m tired of the customer bashing on twitter. 20% of the tweets are funny, but the rest are a stretch. Makes me not want to support him. He doesn’t appreciate his customers, but they make a very good bloody mary.

Hudson Grill Brookhaven – as much as I love zing-zang, this is the best homeade mix I’ve had in Atlanta. Add a little Absolute Peppar and a dash of horesradish and you’re gravy!

A question I can’t answer because I insist the bartender start with tomato juice and not a mix which is a non-starter in most bars and restaurants. Do any of the nominees do that? Let me know and I’ll certainly give it a try. The last great Bloody Mary I had was at a hotel bar in the French Quarter with the usual stuff and a “secret” ingredient – a couple of dashes of pickle juice.
