Best meatloaf

meatloaf

Nothing beats a classic and the Blue Ribbon Grill's meatloaf took top honors as your pick for best meatloaf in and around Atlanta. Photo courtesy Blue Ribbon Grill.

YOUR PICKS
1. Blue Ribbon Grill
You say, “Blue Ribbon Grill near Northlake Mall has perfected the classic meatloaf. They serve the real-deal meatloaf, not some fancy variation. Been going here for years. I highly recommend this neighborhood classic.”

2. Ted’s Montana Grill
3. Buckhead Diner
4. Greenwood’s
5. Agave

Get meatloaf at its homestyle best at Our Way Cafe, but make sure to add the delicious tomato chutney. It's our pick for best meatloaf in and around Atlanta. The Decatur/Avondale Estates restaurant recently re-opened after being closed for more than a year due to a fire. Staff photo.

OUR PICKS

Keeper of the Best of the Big A Shane Harrison says, “Buckhead Diner’s veal and wild mushroom take elevates meatloaf to fine dining. Agave adds green chiles and chorizo and bathes it in mushroom demi-glace for a flavor-pack international flair. But the recently re-opened Our Way Cafe’s meatloaf tastes like comfort: homey, simple, moist, perfectly textured and lightly dressed with the sweet acidity of tomato chutney.”

I have 3…Engine 11, Aspen @ West Cobb and Ted’s. Engine 11 is by far the best, though.

Buckhead Diner (Veal & Wild Mushroom Meatloaf). Best in the city.

But…no one makes it better than their own mom.

Mine is the best, at home, so I keep making it time and time again, year after year. Honestly, I have yet to experience a mouth-watering desire to go out for meatloaf, and I am certain that I shall never pay a restaurant to have their chef whip one up. It’s the truth and that’s my vote.

matthews in tucker . But they need to change their hours so normal people can eat there. Come on open up on a Saturday for Gods sake. Nothing I would like to do but eat there late lunch on Saturday. Hours closed after breakfast is confusing. Lunch then done.
Food is not all that good anymore. Dry chicken. Banana pudding is out of a can these days. Need a new desert chef as the pies just aint doing it.
Bottom line. I aint been there for a year because its too hard to plan around their schedule. Be like Waffle House. Let someone else run it on the weekends.

Gotta give props to Greenwood’s and Ted’s.
The big issue for me is getting good cold meatloaf for sandwiches!

@KG an occasional “my house” is OK, if, and only if, it comes with a recipe.

The Blue Ribbon Grill in Tucker, without a doubt. You can’t eat it all; serve the leftovers the next day (cold or room temp) in a sandwich with ketchup and mayo for another lip-smacking experience!
