Weekend best bets: Jan. 7-9

Take a little jaunt to the dark side of the moon at Center Stage this weekend at the Pink Floyd Laser Show. Though some of the music is sure to come from the band's 1973 classic (pictured above), the event should be well-lit by those lasers.

Take a little jaunt into space at Center Stage this weekend with the Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular. Though some of the music is sure to come from the band's 1973 classic "Dark Side of the Moon" (pictured above), the event should be well-lit by those lasers.

FRIDAY

Music: Join Big Mike Geier, his Kingsized Orchestra and the Dames Aflame burlesque dancers for “Elvis Royale,” an annual birthday tribute to Elvis Presley at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8 at the Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points.

Stage: The Gas South Broadway Series gets the new year started with a touring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s tuneful classic “Oklahoma.” Through Jan. 9 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
