OUR PICKS

1. Value Village
The AJC’s Atlanta Bargain Hunter Lauren Davidson says, “Value Village, which has locations all over Atlanta, is exactly what a thrift store should be. Not only are the prices the cheapest, but the regular sales mean even shopping for furniture and jewelry can be a pleasure. Walk in at the right time and you can score expensive vintage clothing and accessories for pocket change. Who doesn’t love that?”

I have been in alot of thrift stores, and value village is the best in the city. They have more items than the other stores, and they have different prices based on quality. Every time I visit one, I find something I didn’t know I needed.

my favorite thrift store is Christian City on South side of Atlanta off hwy 138. their prices are the bomb and they sell quality items. I will not go anywhere else. goodwill is too high for what they sell and value village is to tacky.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the Value Village in Buford doesn’t have dressing rooms. Is this the case in the rest of them? I don’t know about most people, but I HAVE to try something on before I buy it. And at Goodwill there are no returns.

Thank you Tooth for telling me where Bob and Arthurs is…

Lisa..Don’t think an of the Value Villages have a dressing room, but they will let you return (clothing) within 7 days with the tags still on them and the receipt..You don’t get your money back, they give you an in store credit that has to be used the day of the return..Goodwill has a dressing room, but as you said, no returns..

Value Village is the BEST Thrift Dept. Store around, there quality of clothing is 10x better then any other thrift store, not to mention their prices are at least 50% cheaper then others, now all we need is more locations, (Gainesville, GA.)

Cherokee County Humane Society Thrift Store is the BEST! Not only do they have great items for sale, but all proceeds goes back into saving animals lives! They help sponsor many low cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinics as well as house homeless cats at the store for adoption. On the weekends the host pet adoptions. I would like to see another thrift store top that!

Cherokee Humane Society Thrift Store located at 5900 Bells Ferry Rd, Acworth, 30102. Half mile North of Hwy 92.

Behind the Thrift Store is a BARK PARK, a calm enclave for humans and critters alike. The BP is about 1.5 acres and enclosed by a 6 foot wooden fence. They also have 5 gardens on site that produced 100 bushels of tomatoes and vegetables last year.

They also sponsor discount shot clinics and have mobile CatSnip spay/neuter clinics. If you’re an animal lover and like a good thrift store I would pick this one.

dollar thrift, Revive and America’s Thrift gets my vote. Some days are better than others but I like how America’s thrift is organized and the employees are always cheerful and helpful. I’ve bought several peices of furniture from there plus most of my families wardrobe came from there. Last time I bought my son jeans from Target they wanted $18 and the zipper broke the first week. I can go to America’s Trift and get him a pair of name brand jeans for $2-4 and they are still wearable and look great.

The Cherokee Humane Society Thrift Store will soon celebrate its’ 7th year in business and sells most everything. They deliver and pick up furniture, working appliances and construction materials seven days a week! They love old cars, trucks, cycles, pianos whether working or not and proudly provide a tax deductible receipt. Address is 5900 Bells Ferry Rd, Acworth, 30102. Half mile North of Hwy 92. They also frequently sponsor discount shot clinics and mobile CatSnip spay/neuter clinics at Thrift Store.

Behind the Thrift Store is a BARK PARK, a calm enclave for humans and critters alike. the BP is tucked into 1.5 landscaped acres and enclosed by a 6 foot wooden fence. they also have 5 gardens on site that produced 100 bushels of tomatoes and vegetables last year!
The Thrift store phone is 770-592-8072 for pickups and they are also an approved worksite for community service.

I love Thrift Stores and shop them all the time. But none can surpass the Cherokee Humane Society Thirft Store. Clean and neat. Also have kittens and cats for adoption that have been “dropped off” at the store. Last summer they found four kittens near death stuffed in a box outside their door. It that was completely taped up so the kittens had no air. They rescued them, vaccinated, altered, and now they are living happily ever after in loving homes. Can’t think of a better cause, nor a better way to support the millions of animals that are killed each year in the shelters. They also have an awesome auction in the Fall. If you haven’t shopped them you are missing a great place at 5900 Bells Ferry Road.

Cherokee Co Humane Society Thriftstore is one of my faves coz most of their money goes to help pets and their owners. They sell a kinds of things, have a dog park in the back, they sponsor discount shot clinics and mobile CatSnip spay/neuter clinics at or on site and have veggie gardens.

They work very hard and are a credit to the community.

Cherokee County Humane Society Thrift Store is the best. Low prices, great finds and best of all they help the animals. I have two little dogs of my own and love them dearly. They support discount shot clinics, spay and neutering clinics. Hats off to all the volunteers who help keep it going. My vote is for them and for what they stand for.

I have been associated with Mr. Ottis Moore and the Cherokee County Humane Society for quite a few years, both as a volunteer and a “customer”. The Cherokee County Humane Society’s thrift store has to be one of the best in the metro area. The personnel there are very friendly and helpful. The store has a huge variety of merchandise to chose from and they will deliver and pick up furniture, working appliances and construction materials seven days a week. They even accept old cars, trucks, cycles, pianos whether working or not and proudly provide a tax deductible receipt. And to help with the pet population they also frequently sponsor discount shot clinics and mobile CatSnip spay/neuter clinics. The CCHS thrift store address is 5900 Bells Ferry Rd, Acworth, 30102.

I always find great bargains at Attic Treasures Thrift Shop in Chamblee (across from the post office on Broad St), including designer clothing for women, antiques and household goodies. They also have a big selection of well-priced clothing for the whole family. Proceeds go back into the community to help those in need. Check it out! AssistanceLeagueATL.org

My vote is for the Cherokee County Humane Society Thrift Store. Not only can you find great deals on everything from clothes to furniture to pet items and books, but all proceeds go to the adoption program and spay neuter program. They find homes for stray and unwanted dogs and cats in Cherokee County and even from the surrounding counties. Its help for those who cannot help themselves.

CLOTHING LESS TRAVELED in Peachtree City Georgia! All I can say is WOW!!! Name brand adult and children’s clothing, very well displayed and grouped not only by sizes but by color as well. This makes for quick shopping and a fun adventure for sure. I love the furniture section that is constantly changing, though there is a small amount of “space” for the furniture they have so many pieces lined up just right. Dishes, glassware, kitchen, electronics, toys, books are all in very good condition and easy to see. Shopping cart make buying a breeze. The store is mostly manned by volunteers who are so kind, and helpful. I vote this the best Thrift Store in Atlanta hands down! Don’t miss it if you are in town, worth your time for sure!

The Cherokee Co Humane Society Thirft Store on Bells Ferry Rd Acworth is by far the best place to look for so many goodies – and so well kept and personnel who actually help out!!
The plus on buying there: proceeds go to the medical/vet bills for the doggies and kitties – spaying/neutering and any other medical they need – and while you shop you can visit w/the kitties that stay there during the week :)

I am not sharing my sources as I sell vintage online. ;) However, I did love the Value Village when I lived ITP. Been buying and wearing vintage for 27 years at least. Used to love the Salvation Army in Avondale Estate before the thrift craze. I found an original Beatles Yellow Submarine shirt there.
