The tasty dogs at Barker's Red Hots, your pick for best in Atlanta, sizzling away on the grill.
YOUR PICKS
1. Barker’s Red Hots
You say, “Barker’s – No one even compares. Water pulls the flavor out of the dog. Barker’s are grilled over real charcoal. Try their signature dog!! Dogs made by a 142 year old meat packer out of Buffalo, N.Y. Awesome rings and fries and their Bomb Italian Sausage – unbelievable. Wash it all down with a Loganberry and you died and went to heaven.”

OUR PICKS
1. Brandi’s World Famous Hot Dogs
The AJC dining team’s Popular Eats specialist Jon Watson says, “Open only for lunch, you will always find this small diner-style hot dog shop in Marietta packed to the brim with regulars, and for good reason. Their spicy chili dogs are the epitome of a Georgia-style hot dog, and the best that I’ve had in the city.”

the Varsity…why?…its the steamed bun, the chilli cant be imitated or duplicated, the slaw is excellent, and you add the dab of mustard and the onions if you like and and nothing can beat the varsity!

Had lunch at America’s Top Dog today. It was excellent. The fries are always hot out of the fryer, and since you get to add your own toppings, the fries are even better with some cheese and cincinnatti chili slopped on them.
Nice concept, great dogs.

With all due respect to the Varsity, Brandy’s (nee Betty’s) of Marietta has the best hog dogs in the whole Atlanta area. And I’m not from Atlanta.

Nu-way is GOD awful. Made it a special point to check them out when I was in Macon. I went to the original location downtown, where do I begin – the service and the ordering is a complete mess, the hot dogs if you call them that are neon red I never in my life saw anything like it the dogs where so bad I couldn’t even finish them. NU-WAY is nasty and I can’t believe it is even being mentioned here.

I grew up in Macon close to a Nu-Way. I liked them but they are like the Varsity. More about atmosphere than the Hot dogs. The dogs are nothing special. As far as taste, you just can’t beat CJ’s as I stated above. My second choice would be Yellow Jacket in ellenwood.

I used to eat Barker’s off the vending cart downtown years ago when I worked at Macy’s. I just found them recently on Windy Hill it was like finding an old friend. I missed you!!!
