YOUR PICKS

1. Home Grown GA

You say, “Fantastic food at a fantastic price – plenty of options for omni- and herbivores alike” and “Home Grown is a gem.”

2. Empire State South

3. Local Three

4. Farm Burger

5. Young Augustine’s

OUR PICKS

1. Empire State South

AJC dining critic and Food and More blogger John Kessler says, “Athens chef Hugh Acheson brings his appealing New South sensibility to Atlanta, and we’re a better dining city for it.”

2. Super Pan Latino Sandwich Shop

3. Farm Burger

4. The Sound Table

5. La Fourchette

One caveat on our picks: Kessler hasn’t made it to Local Three, which occupies the former Joël space, or Decatur’s Sprig Restaurant and Bar, two very good candidates for this list.

If you haven’t been to Deckard’s yet, your missing out on one of the coolest spots in Midtown. Great food, patio is awesome, and the beer, is like nothing I’ve seen in a Tavern eatery. I have eaten there 3 times, and never a bad dish. Check it out, on Ponce, 5 minutes from The Fox, near the Home Depot.
