Copelands has a nice laid back atmosphere, a little jazz music, subdued lighting and mostly decent food. Just make sure you aren’t sat near a screaming kid (as with any restaurant) and it makes for a relaxing weekend brunch. I Do Not like the Flying Biscuit on Johnson Ferry Rd. So-so food (big dry biscuits) and bad service. Wouldn’t go again even for free food.

Murhy’s, Sun in my Belly, Carpe Diem… I’ve brunched at 20 places better than Flying Biscuit… I can’t figure out why people love that restaurant. J Christopher on a bad day beats Flying Biscuit.

I tried to stick with Atlanta restaurants, although I wavered slightly with Pastries A Go Go. The Social House is my favorite new brunch joint. I’m almost hesitant to mention it, since it’s still relatively unknown.
El Azteca has on Peachtree in Buckhead has a unique Sunday Brunch. It’s an all you can eat buffet, with Mexican lunch and breakfast choices.
Flying Biscuit used to be awesome until it went corporate. It had great biscuits at the old Candler Park location, but now they are hard as a rock. Since being splattered on every street corner in Metro Atlanta, it seems as if they are no longer able to manage quality control. J. Christophers and Thumbs Up don’t seem to be managing their growth very well either.

I live O-OTP but when we want vittles during the middle of the Sabbath, that would be Sunday dinner versus Sunday supper, we take the white picket fence off the Winnabaguh, disconnect the LP tank (impotent safety tip) and head for Murphy’s in VA Highlands. The parkin’s kind of tough but the food is worth it…

Thanks for the tips – will look into El Azteca – yum, Mexican food for brunch!! Also wonder what a Pappadeaux brunch would be like, their food is tasty at dinnertime! We went to Copeland’s for a special occasion (pricey) but the food was memorable, truly worth the $$$! Waiting for that next special occasion to go back! Just go hungry so you can try all the foods, they almost have so much you can’t try all that they have in one visit.

ITP – Parish and Rosebud- NO Contest. Rosebud has THE best omelettes, french toast, etc in town.And music and a GREAT atmosphere!! Parish is a little pricey, but worth it, for sure.
OTP- Chequers Seafood Grille @ Perimeter has an AWESOME brunch – and it’s C-H-E-A-P!!! Under $22.00 per person and AMAZING food & service!!
Going to the Flying Biscuit now is akin to going Burger King or Mickey D’s it’s so awful. What a shame. But there ARE great places like Parish and Chequers!

I’m still a fan of Corner Cafe. Been to Rosebud for dinner (YUM!) but never for brunch so I’m sure it’s great too. Haven’t been to Murphy’s in years, but when I did it was wonderful! I agree about Flying Biscuit…it went downhill when it started multiplying.
