The 28 oz. Porterhouse at Bone's
YOUR PICKS
1) Bone’s
You say, “Many years eating at great steak restaurants with the wife, and Bone’s is tops for quality and consistency” and “I love the Bone’s experience. They treat you like royalty there and the attentive servers are very good.”

OUR PICKS
Food and beverage writer Bob Townsend says, “Chef Kevin Rathbun’s sleek update of steakhouse tradition has plenty of appeal, even for people who don’t eat meat. But carnivores swoon over the 22-ounce dry-aged cowboy ribeye. Chunky onion rings, buttery mashed potatoes and creamy spinach complete the manly meal deal. And for decadence on a budget, the 12-ounce prime burger is a delight.”

I cannot nearly afford it; but, I would like to know what makes Bones so good. Could someone elaborate? Thanks.

Bones is excellent as is Rathbun’s Steak is also excellent. I have heard from multiple folks that Highland Tap is a great steak for the price.

Bones v. Chops? A toss up. I generally do not order steak anywhere else, as I am always disappointed.

Rathbuns Steaks; Hal’s on Old Ivy comes in second. Bones is good, but feels like your dad’s steak house. Also prices are through the roof. Love Rathbun’s patio. All three places can be noisy. Also, French American Bistro has a good steak–not a “steak-house” steak, but a very good bistro steak with some inventive sauces.

Bone’s hands down. I cant shake the taste of their 8oz filet mignon, accompanied by the grit fritters, Bone’s salad and a pomegranate martini to seal the deal. Chops comes in second. Love, love, love Bone’s!

Since this is only asking where is the best steak (not the best steak for the money or the best atmosphere, etc.), the choice is fairly easy for me…Bones.
Second place for me would go to Rathbun’s Steak, and a sentimental third would go to Highland Tap, just because I like the place.

Agree with love it. Gone to bones my whole life, but hals filet takes it although bones salad and grit friters would make the perfect meal. Also have beeneating at haven some recently. They do a great steak too.

Highland Tap if value is a factor, but Bones is the best if cost is no object. Prime’s early bird special would be third for me.
