An assortment of the many tasty treats available at Ali's Cookies in Marietta. They also deliver locally and ship nationwide and you can order from their website (click the photo to check it out).
YOUR PICKS
You say, “Definitely Ali’s. They are worth the drive to Marietta no matter where you are! I can’t even pick out a favorite, because every cookie I have eaten from there is divine.”
2) Alon’s

The Cherry Ginger Explosion (on top) and the crackly Spicy Ginger cookies are just two of the flavor revelations at Decatur's Cookie Studio.
OUR PICKS
We say, “Dive into a box of these big, hearty discs of sweet goodness, and do something good at the same time. This Decatur shop donates a portion of its proceeds to the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children. From the spicy ginger to the white chocolate macadamia, everything they bake here is a luscious treat.”

Holman and Finch sells incredible snickerdoodle cookies at their stand at the Peachtree Farmers Market. I also like the snickerdoodle at Duck’s Cosmic Kitchen although it has a totally different texture – more cakey than crispy.

Are those who have listed a toffee chocolate chunk cookie from Panera sure they mean Panera, not Atlanta Bread Company? I work near an *Atlanta Bread Company*, and that toffee chocolate chunk cookie is absolutely amazing. (Had one at lunch today, actually.) It was the first thing that sprang to mind, though I also like cookies that are (mostly) unattainable here in Atlanta anymore: the “Buffalo Chip” at Buffalo’s and (as one other person noted) Max & Erma’s (STILL miss that place). My favorites of all, though, are the ones my mom makes! Sorry you all don’t get to try those.

First I think AJC should have classifications for the cookies. IMHO nothing compares to a chocolate chip (just as others are passionate about their Oatmeal raisin). One of my favorite chocolate chip cookie is actually at Whole Foods. The quest for THE BEST chocolate chip cookie is a lifelong endeavor. Thanks for the suggestions, ME WANT COOKIE!

So hard to choose which one as they are all too good to be true. I usually get a dozen assorted. You get 14 to the dozen so I usually eat the two free ones on the way home.

I’ve been eating Chocolate Chip and Wedding Cookies from Rhodes Bakery for 55 years, and think they are the best – the CC’s taste like a Toll House Cookie is supposed to taste. They also have fabulous Fruit Bar – makes my mouth water to think about them. Started with Rhodes via my Grandmother at the store on Cheshire Bridge. Now they’re on Holcomb Bridge near Brookwood Grill.
McAlister’s Kennesaw used to make the best Sugar and Oatmeal/Raisin/Walnut cookies around, but their home base in TX forced them to stop baking their own and use a prepackaged NASTY bunch of cookies, and the concensus of my office is they’re dreck now!

So funny what Juliette posted. I buy Ali’s Cookies for my clients all the time (In fact my clients ask me for them). When I get them I also keep the two extra and eat them myself. Ali’s Cookies are THE BEST and the folks there bend over backwards to help their customers. I call in my order and they have it ready. They even keep my business cards on file and tie one onto the box with a pretty bow to match.
