YOUR PICKS

1) Waffle House

You say, “It’s a combination of greasy food, cheap eats, close proximity to whereever I crashed and lack of required dress attire. …  I swear, there’s a Waffle House every other intersection in the South, so there’s always one close by.”

2) Flying Biscuit Cafe

3) The Majestic Diner

4) Marietta Diner (tie)

4) The EARL (tie)

OUR PICKS

1. Fado Irish Pub

Food and beverage writer Bob Townsend says, “As a hangover cure, the traditional Irish breakfast — a groaning mass of eggs, Irish sausages and bacon, black pudding, white pudding, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and bread — has its own decadent appeal. That’s particularly true when it’s served up with a pint. At Fado, all that can be had day or night.”

3. Majestic Diner

4. Waffle House

You know…..this really is a pretty lame, juvenile and unappetizing topic….Who over the age of 23 or so would want to discuss a “hangover breakfast”?

Waffle House. Most of the other places mentioned aren’t open at 3:00AM when you need them! Waffle Houses are everywhere, and nobody is gonna bug you because you’re a little bleary eyed.

Leave it to Atlanta to turn a food blog, to discussing drinking, driving, and accidents. All of you are hippocrits. You get drunk on Saturday, then pray and worship on Sunday. Then pass judgement on everyone else the rest of the week. IHOP~ Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity

How did it take so long for Ria’s to get a mention? Mary Mac’s needs to be in the conversation too, along with Murphy’s, J Chris and Marietta Diner.

I am 27 and this is the best blog to date. The older I get, the worse my hangovers.
Waffle House is always clutch. A grand slam (4 healthy shots) at Arden’s Garden and then a day of laying on the couch is my usual routine.

I absolutely need grease after a long night of partying and drinking, so Waffle House is the place for that! But if I’m downtown I always hit up Gladys Knights Chicken & Waffles. The Midnight Train (4 fried chicken wings, a large waffle, and small orange slice) is soooooo good!

Quick Trip(QT) has good refrigerated burritos and their BIG BOMB will fix you right up. Microwave it and enjoy plus it’s only about 600 calories! DOH! :)

Wash it down with cold milk…milk and burritos (or a greasy burger) is the best hangover prescription!

If you really have a hangover, then you want some place where 1) They keep your coffee cup filled 2) There isn’t excessive noise and 3) There are no bright lights. That would spell Manuel’s Tavern for me!

I’m sad for the individuals who are so lacking a sense of perspective that they react to a casual discussion about hangover remedies. As we get older, the game we talk is usually better than the game we play, but many of us will stay out a bit late and have a bit too much to eat/drink. (And, no, we don’t all club hop in Buckhead and weave our way home drunk. ) Sunday morning comfort food is a critical discussion topic.

DUI accidents are serious business and need to be treated accordingly, but trying to squeeze the all of the fun out of life will continue to cost you credibility.
