OUR PICKS
1) Holeman & Finch Public House
Food and beverage writer Bob Townsend says, “A sanctuary of cocktail art, recently named among Esquire magazine’s ‘Best Bars in America,’ H&F boasts one of Atlanta’s best chefs, Linton Hopkins, who favors manly, meaty stuff, such as pig’s ear bologna and pepper-crusted veal hearts. A cult following has grown up around H&F’s strict practice of serving only 24 double patty cheeseburgers each night at 10 p.m.

Jagger’s Pizza in Sage Hill Plaza has the best pizza & wings…and now great sandwiches which dispell the notion that anything more than a mouthful is wasted…..you won’t waste any of these delicious morsels…..and they are big!

Manuel’s without question!
Also, Publik Draft House on Peachtree has a great (and cheap!) beer selection and surprisingly good food (the fish & chips are A-May-Zing!).

You have to try the Smithwick’s Beer-Braised Short Rib Sandwich at the Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub in the Crabapple area. The pub has received two 2010 Around Town Readers’ Choice Awards. The pub was voted Best of the Best in the categories of New Restaurant and Sports Bar.

Mr. C’s off Howell Mill. Best Dive-bar in town and their burgers/wings are cheap and very tasty. Also the stiffest drinks you’ll find anywhere. I can’t count the number of times I’ve crawled out of that place at 3am and passed out in a pile of my own vomit. The bartenders are phenomenal, too.

Best burger in town is Amsterdam Bar and Cafe at Amsterdam walk. They use ground sirloin and actually will cook it correctly….if you ask for medium rare that’s what you get. Better than Vortex. A bargain for $8.

I can’t believe no one has given Three Dollar Cafe a little love. Cheap, classic pub food….and like any good pub, there’s plenty of booze, and always a sporting event on one of a thousand televisions.
