Harold's beloved Brunswick stew
YOUR PICKS
1) Harold’s
You say, “Harold’s. After over thirty years of eating all manner of BBQ in the South, there’s no better. It’s so good I should say it again: Harold’s.”
3) Fox Bros.
4) Fresh Air
5) Wallace BBQ

The Brunswick stew at Harold's with a few treats to go along with it. The cracklin' cornbread is a must.
1) Harold’s
Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “A big bowl of tomatoes and corn, with tons of shredded meat and a hint of spice, just like my father used to make. Warm, never hot. And no potatoes or beans, and that’s just as it should be.”

Old Hickory House followed by Harolds. Whoever said Smokey Bones (Steve), you have no idea how great stew should taste.

Amo’s BBQ at the intersection of Hwy.’s 372 and 369, just south of Ball Ground has the best ! Amo’s is a small place, a typical “hole in the wall”, that serves great food with outstanding service.

Brunswick stew is not mushy. You can still see and taste the tomatoes and meat. Of course, I love everything that Scott makes!

The BEST, hands down, is Melear’s BBQ in Fayettteville. Close second (the original owner’s of both got their stew from the same guy) is Wallace’s in Austell.

Billy Dee, Harold’s is as close to Vandy Boyd’s in Statesboro as I’ve had in Atlanta. Grew up eating Vandy’s in Statesboro and had looked for my replacement in Atlanta. Harold’s is it!
