OUR PICKS

1) Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro

AJC dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “No restaurant in Atlanta creates the fire show that is great Thai food with quite the amount of flavor and finesse as Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro.  Along with some of the best fish dishes the city has to offer, the classic Thai salads are small universes of enjoyment.”

Throughout the years and different locations, Tamarind (Seed) has never disappointed.

Taste of Thai in Norcross, hands down. I never see it written up or anything, but it’s pretty much the best everything when it comes to Thai food. We make special trips outside the perimeter just to go there (a big deal when we live in Midtown without a car).

If the winner is not Tamarind or Nan, I may have to launch a jasmine rice-fueled protest. While there may certainly be some small treasure of a Thai restaurant buried in the ‘burbs or on Buford, I’ve still tried many of Atlanta’s best and those two remain on top. That said, there are no shortage of superb Thai options in this city and we should feel lucky to have such awesome options!

Thai Restaurant of Norcross on Norcross Tucker Rd. Hands down the best Tom Yum soup in the metro area. Really nice family run restaurant. Seems like I even remember there being an AJC hanging up in the front of the store where it was named the best Thai restaurant in the metro.

longevity=best….been going to thai of nocross since mid 80’s and still the most authentic and best in atlanta. reasonable priced, large portions and can be ordered to any pallate. having been to thailand multiple times definately the closest to authentic. Nan Fine Dining is also very good but obviously tamed down a bit but very flavorable. the whole fried red snappper is to die for. expensive and white table cloth…a good date place before/after a show downtown.
