You say, “Our family has a tradition of eating at Chepe’s on Friday nights. We love the food, the service and the atmosphere. Everything we have eaten has been awesome and the staff is so very friendly and efficient. Sometimes there is a wait, but it’s well worth it, I promise.”

1) Taqueria La Oaxaquena

Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “No place serves the mystery that is masa as well as this real-deal joint in Jonesboro. This is soul food, Mexican-style, and specializing in the wonders of Oaxaca.” See her complete round-up for more on each of these Mexican marvels.

2) Celia’s Carniceria y Supermercado

I hate to break it to everyone, but you will not find the best Mexican food in the ATL in any restaurant. For the best, you must find the father of my friend TYLER PIKE. He took his homemade slow-and-low pulled pork and slapped together some smoked carnitas tacos with a memphis mole sauce that would blow your head clean off.

Chepe’s? Isn’t that the place where the guy ate a couple of ground beef tacos and didn’t even make it out of the restaurant before he collapsed on the floor right in the doorway and began uncontrollably defecating and vomiting all over himself, and they just ripped a pancho off the wall and threw it on him until the paramedics came, and the whole time while people were waiting for the paramedics, every few minutes you could see the pancho convulse, and then a rivulet of brown liquid would run out from under the pancho onto the floor? or was that some other place?

The Bridge Mexican Gourmet is without a doubt the BEST Mexican food I’ve EVER eaten. It’s in Roswell. The chefs and wait staff are so friendly and welcoming. It’s worth a drive from anywhere. Try it. You’ll love it! I’m so happy to have found this place!

Agree that Nuevo Laredo seems to be a place folks from Alpharetta go to pretend they are living on the edge.

Taqueria Los Hermanos on Hugh Howell in Tucker. Family run, home style, fresh dishes, reasonable prices, family friendly. the chicken tortilla soup is my fav and you can change out beans and rice with any dinner for fresh sauteed spinach or asparagus any day. Try the Cessina. It rocks.

So many good places already mentioned, so I’m adding Tijuana Joe’s on Roswell Road north of Sandy Springs. Their stuffed polbano and their enchilada sauce are both very good.

By far the best Mexican restaurant is THE BRIDGE GOURMET MEXICAN RESTAURANT with the past chefs of El Mexica that I personally followed for 18 years until they closed. I’m Home!!! The Bridge in Roswell has incredibly fresh cuisine, delicious selections with fab flavors, great variety and specials and truly memorable margaritas. All this, topped off by great personal service. We cannot say enough about them. Don’t miss this treat!!!!!

My vote is for Pappasito’s. Absolutely LOVE their chicken fajitas! The meat is so soft & tender and they give you a small cup of liquid butter to pour over everything. Phenomenal!

I have to say The Bridge Mexican Restaurant in Roswell. Yeah the name doesn’t scream Mexican, but the Chicken Enchiladas with the Green Sauce and the flaming Fajitas are awesome. I dream about those Fajitas sometimes! The best I’ve had since I left Texas.

THE BRIDGE mexican gourmet in Roswell is by far the best food. It is not the rolled up meat with some cheese on top 2 minute mexican food, this food is really good. Every ’special’ they run is awesome and of course the bridge margaritas are the best.

The new Mi Mexico in Loganville off Hwy 78 is wonderful, such a different flavor than the other mexican place around the area. The food is so fresh and the salsas that are brought to the table with your chips are so good. I would let anyone know who lives in that area that they should try out the food you will not leave unhappy.

The Bridge located in Roswell is by far the best gourmet Mexican restaurant in all of Atlanta. All other mexican establishments have run of the mill offerings where as “The Bridge” has Mexican dishes with unique distinct flavors. Tried many around Atlanta but none compare to the real thing.

Atlanta’s best kept food secret is Loganville’s Rancheo on US 78 across from the bowling alley. Its chicken-rice soup is to die for. Comes with abundant white meat, rice and tomatoes. Accompanied by delicious pico de gallo, tortillas, and avocado which can all be dumped into the soup…and a half fresh lime for even more flavor. Been eating all Mexican there for over a decade. Reasonable prices and wonderful service among its veteran crew. Y’all come amigos, hear~?

The Bridge Mexican Gourmet in Roswell. I mean, I know you ITP folks love you some Tin Lizzy and Nuevo Laredo but c’mon. Expand your horizons and go OTP. You’ll find a whole other world out there and yes, sometimes OTP offers better cuisine than ITP. Try The Bridge Mexican Gourmet if you want some good food. If not, go somewhere else.

In fact, I wish that if you haven’t tried at least 50 different Mexican restaurants in Atlanta and the surrounding cities I wish you’d shut your pie-holes. I mean, what’s the best Mex … most of us probably just think … hmm, of the 3 that are in a 5 mile radius of my house, this one or that one is the least offensive. Seriously, The Bridge Mexican Gourmet is great. Nuevo Laredo is good, Zocalo is good, Tara Humata is aight, Pure Taqueria is crap, CANS is Pure with a different name but is slightly better just because it’s not actually Pure …
