You say, “Our family has a tradition of eating at Chepe’s on Friday nights. We love the food, the service and the atmosphere. Everything we have eaten has been awesome and the staff is so very friendly and efficient. Sometimes there is a wait, but it’s well worth it, I promise.”

Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “No place serves the mystery that is masa as well as this real-deal joint in Jonesboro. This is soul food, Mexican-style, and specializing in the wonders of Oaxaca.” See her complete round-up for more on each of these Mexican marvels.

The El Torero restaurants are my favorite. The special stuffed chicken quesadillas are wonderful. The chips and salsa are the best. They need to open one up in the Loganville area.

LA PARRILLA MEXICAN RESTAURANT. Authentic food (nothing from a can) best margaritas. I recommend the La Parrilla Margarita, you will only need a couple of those, and you’ll be singing and dancing with the live music they have on the weekends. Fast service, friendly, but most of all, Excellent food. I know of 3 locations I’ve been to; Powder Springs (my favorite one) Marietta (close to the Marietta Square), Marietta (close to crossing of Dallas Hwy. and Barrett Pkwy), and there’s one in Alpharetta off of exit 12 (?), and one in Stockbridge. You have to get there before seven if you don’t want to wait, or if you don’t mind waiting get there when the crowd gets there!!! It’s a lot more fun and more festive!

We will drive from Alpharetta to Nuevo Laredo when we feel like eating great Mexican food. Lot’s of local Mexican restaurants closer – none even close to the food quality.

I believe No Mas has got to be the best in Atlanta, better than Nuevo Laredo because you don’t have to wait in line for 3 hours before you eat. You sit down with in 10 minutes and the food is equally good if not better.

El Rey Del Taco is the best IMO. I see multiple nominations for Nuevo Laredo Cantina and I’ve never understood the reasoning behind the high regard for the place. It’s competent food at best.

Unequivocably, Taqueria Del Sol. Not such a big fan of Mexican food, TDS offers dishes not drowned in greasy red stuff and covered in a pound of cheese. Fish tacos superb, and by far the best Guac in the city. Cheap, great food, friendly staff – only thing I’d change is the long lines. My fave restaurant of any type.
