OUR PICKS
Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “Unexpected and totally satisfying, La Pietra Cucina is possibly the most authentic Italian restaurant in the area. Chef Bruce Logue has a deep understanding of Italian cuisine, but his interpretation is his own.”

In town – Figo on Collier
OTP- Vingenzo’s in Woodstock.
Both have food for grown ups. Well prepared and consistant. No endless feeding at the hog trough of garlic rolls (there’s a reason they have sturdier chairs at Provino’s, Scalini’s, et al – just look at the average weight of the customer at those places) at either one of these places. Just fresh ingredients and reasonable prices.

Lot of places with great food, but La Tavola for the combo of food, wine, and service.

Cardamuro’s Italian Cafe in Sugar Hill, GA. BEST Italian food EVER! Make the trip to Sugar Hill for it. My favorite is their pizza and eggplant parm.

Ippolito’s is the best “home-cooked” italian in my book. Vini, Vidi. Vici is probably a close second in overall italian food though.

Another vote for Fusco’s via Roma. Another family favorite is Frankie’s on Canton Rd in Marietta.
Anything but Veni Vedi Vici! Average overpriced food and the worst service I’ve ever had. Never again.

Has to be Pizza Hut. Didn’t they fool a bunch of diners in high-end Italian restaurants not long ago with their pasta dish?

Can’t believe all the Provino,s I’m seeing!! Obviously folks don’t know what real Italian is. La Grotta in Buckhead is absolutely the best palce for Italian. The staff and service is very Italian-warm, friendly, doesn’t matter if you’ve been there one time or one hundred. And the food is as authentic as it comes. And, oh yeah, I’m 100% Italian and find it hard to do Italian out unless it is the real deal. I took my Mom there after I retired for my party and she was floored. That, my friends, is the seal of approval!

I’d have to go with Alfredo’s on Cheshire Bridge too. Dark and semi-rude staff but it actually adds to the ambiance! FANTASTIC restaurant.

Figurelli’s been to Italy two whole times, so he knows the real thing? Wow, I’m impressed! I also come from an Italian family up north and cook my own pasta and sauce. I’ve been to Italy about two dozen times, I speak the language, and I’ve broken bread with about four dozen Italian relatives. I can assure you Figurelli, regarding Il Localino, you don’t know the real thing.

Move over…Atlanta has no good Italian places. Basically, the restaurant scene here sucks. Sotto Sotto used to be decent, but their menu has remained the same for years. Where is the seasonal/ daily produce factor coming in.
Chefs, Go to San Francisco for a stint at Delfina, A 16, NOPA , Baretta etc
