Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “Chef-owner David Sweeney has garnered a lot of praise for his eco-friendly vegetarian restaurant located on the edge of the Sweet Auburn district downtown. The kudos are well-deserved: He cooks with a kind of renewed intensity that can only come from having fresh ingredients and knowing how to use them.”

Pura Vida in VA Higlands. I don’t eat meat and they have so many wonderful options. They have a tofu tapa that is out of this world. It may make converts, if only for that night…

I think that Nuevo Laredo has the best options for vegetarian. The spinach/mushroom/onion saute they offer in burritos, quesadillias and chile rellenos is miles ahead of any other Mexican restaurant offering of cheese enchiladas (can we have some creativity?) creamed spinach (yuck) served three different ways. I normally get the vegetarian burrito (w/o cheese) with a side of black beans (instead of refried beans) and rice. Nuevo gets creative with the Holy Tacos and Mole Vegetable Enchiladas which are out of this world. I wish they would expand their offering to include items like Tempeh (marinated in their fajitas marinade) which would be a great substitute for beef in the fajitas and taco salad. In a previous forum comments were made that the food served had an excess of grease. I’ve never experienced this with any of the vegetarian menu items. In addition to these items, one should also try the Mexican Caviar, grilled jalapenos, Cebollitas (grilled scallions). What makes this my favorite is that it’s real food with flavor and any of my non-vegetarian friends can easily find something they love. Even if it’s just the tequila (grease free)!

Creative. Consistant. Funky. Healthy.
R. Thomas was serving up quinoa before most knew how to even pronounce it. Great food all around. I do not eat meat, however my husband does and whenever we go there we are both pleased as punch. I love the nori rolls. The sloppy joe is wonderful too and do not miss the red smashed potatoes.

L’Thai in Tucker serves organic vegetarian Thai, as well as free-range and hormone free meat entrees. Their service is flawless and the atmosphere is serene. They also have an excellent wine bar.

The Green Sprout restaurant, located at in the shopping center behind Caribou Coffee at the corner of Piedmont and Monroe, offers an excellent, entirely vegetarian menu of Chinese cuisine. They use mock chicken, beef, pork, and scallops to create entrees that will fool your eyes as well as your taste buds. My son loves the Mongolian Beef, and neither one of us could tell that it was vegetarian.

Dynamic Dish is heaven for vegetarians-fresh, healthy, delicious food made with locally sourced vegetables-also plenty of tofu and tempeh dishes for a hearty winter meal. I also love the salads at Lotta Frutta as well as the fruit cups, and vegetarian salads and soups at Metrofresh are great options for vegetarian dining as well.

Soul Veg is probably the best vegan food Atlanta has to offer. Every person I have taken there – omnivore or not – has loved it.
Ps – no human is a true ‘carnivore’, as you wrote at the beginning of this link. A carnivore is someone who ONLY eats meat.

Thai House Of Roswell is my favorite with a great menu that includes traditional Thai, Chinese and a Vegetarian Menu offering Suegai, Sueyu and Tofu Options. This is where I go at least once a week for delicious comfort food. Delicious Tangerine Suegai, Panang Tofu and Tom Yum Soup are my favs.

The perfect meal at Soul Vegetarian on N. Highland includes savory country fried kalebone, macaroni and soy cheese (awesome!), and collard greens, accompanied by the house salad with yummy dressing and vegan cornbread.
Kudos also go to Green Sprout in Ansley Park for their wondrous soups, especially the hot-and-sour variety.
