Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “Forget the retro vibe and uber modern construction: I come to sit at the bar and have a well-made drink. Cool, calming colors and a huge block of ice to my left, I simply spout out a liquor and the barkeep brings a surprise, made seemingly just for me.”

There’s a bar in the Omni Hotel. Just at the top of the escalator, to the right. I think its called Latitudes. Love it.

My two go-to places are the Four Seasons (for happy hour right after work) and the St. Regis (for drinks after dinner).

Whiskey Blue at the W Buckhead is not just by far the best hotel bar – it is the best bar in Atlanta.

Trader Vic’s at the Atlanta Hilton. There’s no other place like it in the world–and I include other Trader Vics. Drink Shop at the W Hotel isn’t bad either.

The W. Midtown, The Ritz Carlton Buckhead, Halo, and I agree the Omni Hotel Bar is perfect. Lots of options in Atlanta and depending upon my mood i’ve plenty to select from. I love the A.

Spring/Summer is ideal for AltoRex @ Palomar. Winter nights I dig any of the bars at the W’s – like Drinkshop, Whiskey and Whiskey Blue.

My ex and I used to love the Segovia lounge in the four seasons, because of the subdued lighting and romantic atmosphere, but we broke up in 2003 and I haven’t been there since.if I can come up with an excuse for going to midtown, I might just swing through with my new lady. I don’t know about the drinks, but the sundial definitely has the view, especially @ night.

Atlanta’s best bar is at New York Prime in Buckhead, no question about it. Four Seasons in Midtown is also good as is the Tavern at Phipps. On the perimeter McKendrick’s is a clear winner.

Hands down…THE W HOTEL-DOWNTOWN ATLANTA location…45 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30308, 404-582-5800. Out of the four W hotels in the City of Atlanta, this one is the very best! The place has three (3) different bars/lounges…”The Living Room Bar,” “The Drink Shop Lounge” & “The Wet Bar.” Besides, it’s where A LOT of celebrities from all ethnic groups hang out with a crowd of down-to-earth people who are not “sweating” them all night! Awesome atmosphere!

It’s not exactly in Atlanta, but close. The Hotel Indigo in Athens is a happening place in a happening town. And downstairs at The Rialto Club is too cool for that school.
