Wow, these comments are entertaining! I go with the "defensive driving" mode both when driving my car or cycling on the road. The only time I ever let go of that is on the Mountain Trails, at least I know the tress don't move. I trust no one on the road, everyone is equally dangerous to me as far as I'm concerned.

Road - Dekalb Ave/The Stone Mtn Path, Silk Sheets, and Silver Comet Trail

Mountain - Fort Yargo, Blankets Creek, Chicopee, Sobe Creek, and Bull Mtn

This is for the F-250 individual and the rest of those that threaten cyclists. I lost my son two years ago because a driver was not sharing the road. That driver was never found and to hear these comments come from you is very disturbing. I assume you have never lost your only child due to reckless acts. But I can assure you, your words and actions have a tremendous effect on others. Sharing a road is so much easier than taking something so precious from someone. May God bless you and the rest of the cyclist on the road.

Two feet: It's a "multi use trail". I agree - riding quickly in groups isn't appropriate unless you time those rides for low traffic, which would essentially be early mornings.

Why should I pay taxes to build roads that you drive on? Why should anyone pay taxes for parks that visitors use?

I like the hill up Northside Drive, then the flat on Paces ferry, then the fun in traffic down Peachtree to downtown. My favorite ride.

The first paved roads were made for bicycles. The law says that we are vehicles. I'm gonna be out there. Live with it.

Been riding here for over 10 years. Alpharetta is singlehandedly the worst city to even think about riding a bike in. No bike lanes, no shoulders, big suvs.
Best 40 mile road ride Park your car at Eves Road Post office. take eves to riverside, Do a loop in Martins Landing with some nice hills to climb. Takes you back to Riverside. eventually to Azalea. Left on Willeo to timber ridge to Lil Willeo. Cross Johnson Ferry through JF Baptist Church to Woodlawn to Paper Mill, right into ATL Country club to Columns Drive. Couple o turns on Columns and return the same way back.

Its the safest bike route I have ridden in this Horrid excuse of a metro who cant seem to find an additional 3 ft of tar to save their lives. But that route I just mentioned. Pretty safe

My favorite place to ride is Buckhead. The streets are smooth and wide, with little traffic. The steep hills and gorgeous mansions keep the rides interesting.

I live up here in White County, so it's not Atlanta, but when I'm able to come down I really enjoy the 'Over 40' ride on Saturday mornings in Roswell. Great people and a great ride. Their Thursday Night Ride is good, too.
