You say, “Cakes by CoCo has the best cakes I’ve tasted since moving to Atlanta 6 years ago! I was first introduced to the rich, indulgent sweets at a gathering. Many of the attendees inquired about the desserts and several of us have been hooked ever since.”

Tres Leches cake from Tierra.

Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “The tres leches cake at Tierra makes me want to cake dive my face into the plate: sweet, almost pudding like, and blanketed with swirls of soft meringue.”

You have to try this Pineapple Cobbler at Green Tomato in Lawrenceville. It is unlike anything you’ve tasted. It is like a cake, but creamy at the same time.

Ritter’s in Marietta has incredible desserts, their chocolate chip cookies, the non-flour chocolate cake, I think my favs are their pumpkin cheesecake, their coconut pie and their key lime. Also, brownie at Houston’s with Kahlua sauce, MMmmmmmm. And last but not least is the upside down chocolate pineapple cake from Bahama Breeze….I go there JUST for that!!!!! MMMMMmmmmmm.

High End: Cafe Intermezzo has deserts that are incredible. For high-end deserts ($6 and up) the cakes are the best.
Recession-Buster End: On the more affordable scale — QuickTrip. Yes, I said QuickTrip. The self-serve gas station. QuickTrip has their own in-house bakery in Ellenwood, GA. QuickTrip staff drives in-house delviery trucks to all the QuickTrip locations to restock the baked-goods display cases and rotate out stock which has not sold — therefore everything is ALWAYS fresh. The donuts, cakes, cruellers are all first rate! From 79 cents to $1 its tough to beat! Plus they beat dunkin’ donuts, Krispy Creme hands-down for donuts. The cakes are first rate too! Enough to bring home and share! Don’t knock it until you try it! the sour-creme cake donuts are outstanding! They are like round cruellers with donut holes.
