Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “For a landlocked city like Atlanta, a classic fish house is a refreshing change from the usual steak-and-sushi gig, and C & S proves its mettle when it comes to making simple preparations — broiled or chargrilled fish, elegant but simply prepared with sides of roasted fingerling potatoes and haricot verts — into big, bold plates of beauty.”

Mystic CT, The Sea Swirl is the ticket for clams, w/ bellies or w/o bellies, and everything else on the menu!

For fried seafood, Fish Head Grille in Acworth on Main Street. Used to be Charlie’s Oyster House until he got busted. Food is pretty much the same as it has been, but the joint has been cleaned-up a bit. Better than the other “Oyster House” on 41 in Acworth. If you’re not in a fish mood, the chicken wings are the best.

Oh, the Crab Shack in Tybee is a dump with overpriced, substandard seafood. There are much better seafood places in the Savannah/Tybee area to get seafood.

KOCHI SUSHI & HIBACHI On Lawrenceville Hwy & LaVista Rd in Tucker. The Hibachi Styled Mixed Veggies, with Noodles, Rice, Shrimp and Scallops are the best. And you get to see the cook fix it. Very Reasonable Priced too.

I was at Pappasitos last night…the grilled shrimp was to die for. I guess that goes with Pappadeux.

McKinnon’s Louisiana in Buckhead was very good. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner there and everyone just loved the food.

Kyma by far has the best seafood in the city. The fish is fresh when you walk in and flown in daily. You get to pick the way it is prepared and they bring it to your table whole and cut it right there. Havent found anything else that even comes close. It is expensive but well worth the money. When I just want some good fish without the flair of Kyma I usually go to Atlanta Fish Market. I dont make it OTP too much so havent tried many restaurants out there, traffic is just a nightmare to get there for dinner.

I highly recomment Boudreaux’ in downtown Duluth. Very, very delicious, and made by people who buy their seafood in Louisiana every week and know what they’re doing with it.

I’d have to say Legal, although I haven’t been to the one in Atlanta (Baltimore Inner Harbor). I’d have to say Pappadeauxs for price, portion, and environment (nice spot to hit after work on Fridays…almost like a meet-n-greet!).

I’ve been to the Atlanta Fish Market…it was OK, but not the greatest.

For the best seafood, pick any restaurant on City Island…

spondivits, oceanaire, red snapper all get my vote in that order. i have been to atlanta fish market many times and have never been impressed with it. 6 feet under used to be a go-to place but i really don’t care for it anymore. was not impressed with legal seafood here though i love it in boston. i have heard from several people that c&s is good but haven’t been yet. and yeah honorable mention to bankhead fish. tastiest fish ever! true!

Baltimore Crab and Seafood in Castleberry Hill gets my vote. When I relocated here from my hometown of Baltimore, MD, i searched high and low for some true, authentic seafood. I found it when i stumbled across this place!

I like Pappaduex, but it was more for the way the dishes were prepped moreso than just the fish itself. Atlanta Fish and Chequers din’t impress me. Six Feet Under Fell Off…….Legal Seafood was Ok, I make better grilled salmnon, fried snapper and stuffed flounder than most of these places.

People saying folks should leave Atlanta are copping out. Why shouldn’t we bring higher standards to Atlanta so that you guys can actually experience Great seafood instead of just o.k overpriced, not really as fresh as advertised fish? I mean I’ve been to the Northeast for GREAT fresh seafood, NewOrleans(won’t even discuss how delish) and the West Coast for fresh seafood. Atlanta being landlocked is the main reason you will never find that quality out here no matter how much you are charged.

Let’s head south for some Southern Food, not northern grub !! The Buccaneer Club in Crescent(near Darien) right on the Sapelo River and Sound. Totally fresh seafood, large portions, reasonable prices, Southern ambiance ! :) :) :)

Not a seafood house, but I went to Terra Torrior (probably not how you spell that, heck, I can’t even pronounce it) last Friday night and had the best sea bass I’ve ever eaten. What a lovely place, too. The patio is perfect.

I used to love Stringer’s Fish Camp on Shallowford Road until it became so dirty I couldn’t stand it, then they went out of business.

I used to work at the Fish Market, so I know how wonderful the food is there. It’s very fresh and delicious, especially the fried lobster.

Speaking of lobster, you can’t beat the price of Kroger! They will steam it for you, so you can take it home and watch Dancing With the Stars while you gobble it up. Yummy!

OYSTER CAFE (originally named Oyster King) in Kennesaw has the best fired shrimp and oysters ANYWHERE. We have out of town friends living on the Texas coast, and also in the Florida panhandle; both always request a trip to the Oyster Cafe when they visit here. I’ve visited most of the others mentioned here – not even close.

I’m from Lake Charles, LA and I absolutely adore seafood. If your looking for good authentic cajun food, I recommend Henry’s Louisiana Grill in Acworth if you can make it out that way. Also, Boudreaux’s Cajun Kitchen in Duluth is very good. If that doesn’t work, I make a mean seafood gumbo, crawfish etouffee or jambalaya. I’ll even through in some boudin if you ask nice.
