Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “Take me to Paris, and what do I want? Well, besides shoes? A ham, butter and cheese sandwich on a baquette, bought from a street vender. I can get a similance of this Francophile sammie at Star Provisions, with Parm and prosciutto and butter on one of the provender’s Parisian-style baquettes.”

Just moved here and had never heard of Jersey Mikes, but had a coupon and bought a few before the Brave’s game, and I was impressed. Not gourmet but a lot more meat than I EVER got at any Subway…Definately will be going back – went to Alon’s for cake, didn’t have any sandwiches but the place itself it gorgeous and smells good enough to try one soon…And Mellow Mushroom is AWESOME for calzones – partial to the ham stuffed one…mmmmmm good

Hey KK, if people want to comment on subs vs. sandwiches, let em! Yeah, the title is best sandwich, but if it’s meat between bread, can’t you just let it slide? Take a Haldol and chill out!

S S had it right, Wright’s Gourmet in Dunwoody! Their Rebel Reuben is the best sandwich in Atlanta. Second would have to be Henri’s turkey on onion roll, like butter baby!

Henris Bakery by far has the very best sandwiches in Atlanta. Take it from an ATL native who’s been eating there since elementary school.

The best sandwich in this city is the bhan mi at Little’s Carroll Street Cafe. A close second is Star Provisions – proscuitto and butter and parmesan on baguette. And Little European Bakery makes a mean Italian sammie too.

Best value for dollar are Publix subs (made with boar’s head meats), but I agree about the veg- don’t bother if they don’t look fresh. Jason’s deli comes in second, but only because they’re way overpriced- their sandwiches are really good quality but they’re too big for me- $8 for a drink and a sandwich I can’t even finish seems like a waste when I can get the same for $5-$6 elsewhere. Third is Quiznos, but they’re the least consistent of the bunch.

Goldberg’s tuna salad on toasted cheddar bagel with fresh lettuce and tomato. Publix subs with Boars Head only are good too, but agree on consistency. Depends on what clerk makes it. When you order an Italian, they want to put mayo on it and you DON’T put mayo on an Italian. They even question you as to why. Guess it is a southern thing. Joli Kobe grilled chicken sandwich is also a treat.

Highland Bakery has the best sandwiches (and cupcakes, for that matter). The Corner Bakery downtown is also good. Publix w/Boar’s Head for a sub is good in a pinch. I had Firehouse the other week and it was like chomping on a piece of cardboard–which was particularly disappointing because the last time I had Firehouse (a couple of years ago) it was good.

Hoboken Bagel and Deli Co on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta is really great . The place is tiny & only has two tables crammed together in the front of the store . You might have to eat on the curb but let me tell you , I will put their chicken salad & pastrami sandwiches up against anyones . Their baked goods are awesome too . This blog was made for great unknown places like that .
