I’m a little biased because I worked on Drop Dead Diva all summer with a bit part as a lawyer — whenever there are scenes in the law firm, I’m roaming around somewhere in the background.
I’ve worked a few times on “Vampire Diaries” as well, but I’m not exactly in the show’s demographic. No comment on this show since I’d like to continue working on the series.
But I’m curious to know why the upcoming FOX series “Past Life” was excluded from this blog post? It primarily shoots in the downtown Atlanta area. I’ve worked on the show twice and received great treatment from both the cast and crew. It also looks like it will be a very interesting series to watch.

Real Housewives of Atlanta,is the show to watch.That is if you like Ghetto Fabulous.This show is the biggest joke yet.NE NE or whatever name she goes by is the best the Black community can offer they are in deep sh**.The White trailer park trash chick needs professional help from the neck up,she is neck and neck with ME ME NE NE or whatever she goes by.Maybe they should watch Housewives of New York to get a few tips.

I too have worked on most of the shows being shot here in Atlanta, and could not be more pleased to let you know there is MUCH more to come.
Atlanta has so many things to offer, and it seems everyone from “out of town” is loving being here!
Aside from television there are a great number of feature films that have shot, are shooting, and will be shot here in the upcomming months!
As a workig actor, I could not ask for a better city in which to be!

Craig: Thanks for posting about your experiences on the set of those shows. As for “Past Life,” it wasn’t meant as a slight. It would have taken a long time to mention every show being produced here. That’s why I linked to the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s site, which does have a list of those shows and which has now been updated with current productions (including “Past Life”).

Nothing beats the days when the WCW was taped in Atlanta. I used to ride to the station in a limo surrounded by hott juicy Georgia peaches. I loved working for Ted Turner.

As a 55 year old native Atlantan (born at Crawford Long!) I am so proud of the partnerships we have created with the entertainment decision makers out west. They have cetainly started to again recognize both the talents and the locals here in Atlanta and Georgia. And don’t forget TP’s success and show! By the way, with a flurry of movie making activities in Atlanta and Georgia this year, has anyone heard of release dates for the five or six movies filmed here this year? Would be interested to find out.

ddd is a great show, but i just have to say that i think its a *tad* presumptious to say that atlanta is becoming the “hollywood of the east.” it’ll take way more movies and television shows to be filmed here before atlanta will begin to compete with new york for that title.

I’d have to go with Vampire Diaries – which reminds me, episode 2 is tonight!
DDD just doesn’t interest me at all, whereas it is always interesting to see exactly how filmmakers put their own spin on the vampire mythos. Plus, I find the various characters rather interesting, and it will be intriguing to see exactly how everything setup in the pilot continues to build.

I’m confused. I thought Atlanta aspired to be the New York of the south, not the Hollywood of the east. We had to quicken our pace to be like NYC – let’s not get any more plastic than we already have become in order to be like LA.

I like it when they shot an episode of “House Hunters” HGTV in Atlanta.
I like it when they profile a certain area and say it is 10 min from Atlanta and we know it’s not. OR when they show a young person touring a 1920’s bungalow and they buyers say’s, “the closets are small.”

I love DDD! RHOA is entertaining too but last year was better… It’s almost like the ladies are trying to create drama for ratings. The show seems so staged. It seemed more genuine last year… Any hoot! DDD is my favorite!
