You say, “I don’t even *like* Southern food normally and I love their food (even though it is VERY Southern). Pecan cheddar biscuits… fried green tomatoes… those are my favorite items there. It’s a bit of a drive, but it is worth it.”

2) Café Bombay

3) John Boy’s

4) Daddy’s Country Kitchen

5) Journey’s End

We say “It’s no surprise that one of the Atlanta area’s best Indian restaurants also has one of the best lunch buffets around.”

3) Sweet Tomatoes

4) Mirch Masala

5) Captain Billy’s Fish House

The actual best buffet is not even found in Georgia but in Graham, Ala. It is called Butler’s Mill Restaurant. The finest in seafood including crab legs and oysters and then finish it off with home-made ice cream and strawberry cobbler. The drive to get there is not bad either, beautiful country side. Open Friday and Saturday and a country buffet after church on Sunday.

I believe the subject that we are commenting on is What is the best buffet? This is not the place to tell everyone how hateful and self-centered you are. The beginning of the article mentioned times when only a good buffet will do. I like that idea. Some people have a craving for chocolate….that doesn’t mean they eat chocolate day and night. Some people are so mean spirited and take every subject and opportunity to spew out the hatred that is in their hearts. If you don’t go to buffets don’t comment. Everyone doesn’t have to adopt your superior attitude and selfish disdain for the feelings of others. Having said that, I like Journey’s End in Loganville, I’ve been there one time and have never gone to any other buffet in GA.

The BEST fried chicken, for that matter, the BEST fresh-cooked, cooking in middle Georgia is one of two places, Josey Restuarant on South Dooly in Montezuma and S&S Cafeteria on Riverside Drive, in Macon. They are both awesome!

Blue Willow Inn and the Dillard House are the best hands down. Golden Corral is nasty and should not be included in this poll

People the question Said best in ATLANTA….DUUUH Any HU, the very best in ATlanta is the Green Manor in Fairburn Ga. A bit costly but worth every Penny. The best Mac and Cheese in the south Period. The fried chicken is off the chain the and the sweet potatoes are the stuff dreams are made of. So I will excuse the other suggestions, because you didn’t know any better. Well now you do. No lieniency next time.

First off Sarge, are you really so bored that you want to vent on a buffet thread about overweight Americans and complain about our government? I dont like what they are doing either but this is about the great American “BUFFET” that we all love so much. So take your off subject venting elsewhere.

Second, what will it take for people to realize that the “Buffet” topic wasn’t really intended for the “Golden Corral”, Sunday buffet at “KFC” or any of the other crap franchise buffet’s that are everywhere else in the country. Let’s use some common sense here people. If those are your favorite places to indulge, then by all means, put on your your wife-beaters, and your nascar hats and go get it before the race begins.

As for the actual topic of the “Buffet, I would have to go with The Real Chow Baby @ Howell Mill and 10th st down town and Rusan’s weekday sushi buffet.

Been most everywhere mentioned–most more than once. Longstreet Cafe in Gainesville is far and away the best I’ve found.

My friend, Bill Hargrove of North Georgia, lived to be within one week of 107 years old and his favorites were West Family followed by the Dillard House. I also say the orginal LaPrades and
incidently, they have reopened cause I drove by there yesterday. I plan on visiting there soon and
will report. Oh, the “new” menu at the Golden Corral on Barrett Parkway is awsome!

Chow Baby has the best deal for a healthy buffet. What, fresh vegetables? What are THOSE, Gomer? Gee, I don’t know, Bubba, but hand me one of them butter drenched biscuits and oh looky, they are deep frying and battering bacon now!

I have been to the Blue Willow several times-with different groups of people that have wanted to go. I don’t recommend it to anyone. I think its terrible…I even ‘warned’ my friends it wasn’t that good so they might be disappointed…..and they admitted afterwards it was not what they had expected and wouldn’t be returning.

The Bombay Cafe is the best Indian Food in town, and the lunch Buffet is a great value. Fresh, flavorful and beautifully displayed. Located on Briarcliff just north of North Druid Hills.

I LOVE Matthew’s Cafeteria in Tucker, but it is not a buffet. You go through the line and the ladies behind the counter fill up your plate.

I abhor the idea of a buffet! First of all, too many people have access to the food, leaving their germs all over it and second, no one needs to gorge themselves just to get their money’s worth. It’s disgusting watching obese people pile on the vittles.

Some of you people need to lighten up. It is just a question about a buffet. Please do not be so judgemental of others. Can’t we just be nice for a change and make a recommendation or find one we want to try. I thought that was what this was about. Some people seem to understand that.

For all you people that voted for Donny’s. You wouldn’t know good food if you fell into a bucket of it. The way they cut up fried chicken must be Asian, you cant tell if you are geting a wing or a gizzard. For you yankees there is not enough room here to explain what a chicken gizzard is.
