Lassiter High School definitely. The have been on top of their game for years now. Also Kennesaw Mt and Kell HS. Kell had picked up the past few years and their musicianship is wonderful.

SWD (Southwest Dekalb) without a doubt. With all due respect Lithonia Mom, I can promise you the band has more than just horn holders. The band students actually know their music. One can be singled out at anytime. SWD has played LEVEL 6 MUSIC for years. Level 6 is college level for those who may not know.

Wondering-to answer your question, I was on the set of drumline almost everyday for 1 1/2 months. I can’t answer the question regarding audtions but I can say that there were approximately 156 members of the fictitious Atlanta A&T band of which 120 were SWD band members and the others were from Clark.

GWA’s band is made up of 7th through 12th graders. That’s what you do when your entire high school is the size of some school’s marching bands. GWA competes against such bands regularly and usually wins. They are AMAZING!

Definitely Hillgrove High School. Their directors have much experience in the field of music. Their marching band has shown excessive progress with each passing year. Their concert bands have also scored high in scoring and popularity.

I’ll say all 16 bands in Cobb should be on top of this list. Markham has run the best HS band program for years now in that county. As a CAMPBELL BANDS student, i’ve gotta nominate us–we may be small, but boy are we mighty. Look us up.
Lassiter has to come just behind.

I would have to agree with a lot of these people and say Hillgrove High school. They have really shocked everyone by how much they have grown in the past years. They made finals in BOA Orlando last year with it being only their third year marching(second year with uniforms).
Lassiter is also a great band, but Hillgrove is someone to watch.
