Amazing, supposed grown adults have to call each others losers. Welcome to life, we all have our opinions. We are supposed to be able to state them and not be called names for them.
As for the bands… Lasiter and Sprayberry.

Norcross High School’s band program as a whole is one of the finest in the southeast. It’s marching band should certainly be included in the top 5 in Georgia.

I’m sorry but for all of those SWD fans, the band is truly overrated. Let the records be known: Cedar Grove Marching Saints is the BEST Band from 1995-2002 with Mr. M. Decuir. Stephenson has been on point since Cedar Grove crumbled. Lithonia and Columbia are starting to be the best right now. Miller Grove and MLK are just starting and have a long ways to go.

Has to be Lassiter. The size of the band and the sound they makes. Sounds like a symphonic band on a field.

to trying hard to be patient–The ghetto fabulous comment was unwarranted. No one should be put down because they are born into a non affluent category. Most of the aforementioned bands of Atlanta, Fulton and Dekalb counties don’t have the funds to compete nationally with the schools with affluent parents. Use this medium to honor all those bands that have earned their bragging rights not tear it apart with your ignorant comments. We georgians realized we have the best of all worlds including the high school bands.

I haven’t been to a HS game with a good band in years so I’m speaking purely from what I experienced back in the 80s – early ’00s when I regularly witnessed great HS bands. I’d have to rate the top 10 I’ve seen as:
1. SWD (truly a great band)
2. South Atlanta
3. Booker T. Washington (Is number 1 if u take in to account overall history of a band performing at a high level)
4. McNair
5. Columbia
6. Lucy Laney (Augusta, GA)
7. Redan
8. Towers
9. Crim
10. Stephenson
(I’ve never seen MLK so I can’t call it with them)

Tri- Cities was good back in the day and so was the old Fulton High Band. Mays is pretty good, so is North Atlanta. Cedar Grove used to have a great band as well, but the fell off in the late 90s.
