Allen High School in Allen, Texas is building a $60 million beast of a stadium. It will have an upper deck and a seating capacity of 18,000. There will be 2 video scoreboards, a 4,000 seat student section, and a sunken bowl design. Google it and it will come up. I went to Allen High School and the current stadium seats 14,000 and half of that is portable bleachers that they have to bring in for every home game because they have been selling out every single game for over the past decade. Since the 2006 season, Allen has an overall record of 48-6 and has only lost ONE home game, which was to the #1 nationally ranked Euless Trinity by a score of 24-14. Later in the year, the two met in the playoffs and Allen won and went on to win the school's first state championship and finished as the #2 ranked team in the nation with a 15-1 record. Last year, Allen played Southlake Carroll in the new cowboys stadium in Arlington..there were 50,000 people in attendance. Moral of the story: nobody does high school football like Texas, nobody.

I agree with DeJay. And would suggest the OLD Rockmart High School (Hilburn Field) as perhaps a prime example. The home stands and the visitors stands were right on top of the field. No tracks there. Unfortunately with the new school and facility It has been relegated to midget football and a Semi Pro league. I cant comment on the new facilities..haven't been on that campus to this day.
New is not always better.

Gotta go with Homer Sharp in downtown Covington. Talk about the history 53 years and still going strong, not to mention the recent renovations, looking good for an old girl.

Lowndes of course, the Concrete Palace has it all atmosphere, parking, adequate seating, easy access, surrounded by lots of places to stay and eat. I am also always impressed when we play Camden County. They have a great stadium and school

The Granite Bowl in Elberton, Georgia deserves credit for spirit. Of course other high schools have more money so they can get a very high tech stadium, but the Granite Bowl is original and you can hear the people cheer. It's so full of life. It's not like everybody elses stadium. It's also made from Elberton's most famous thing....GRANITE! it's awesome!

Spalding Stadium on the Marist High School campus in northeast Atlanta is without a doubt the most beautful and functional stadium in the entire state of Georgia. Talk about resourcefulness and loving care --- the fundraising parents (using no tax dollars or drains on public education dollars) paid for each and every brick and slab of concrete themselves. Amazing and beautiful! Visit it and you will agree!
