We had such a huge response in the nominations phase, and the nominees included many stadiums outside the metro Atlanta area. Since we like to leave some of the rules up to the readers, we decided we’d break the voting down into local and statewide facilities. Though we’ve confined our picks to the Atlanta area, we let you vote for both the local and the statewide stadium – and here are your winners.
YOUR PICKS (METRO ATLANTA)
1) Parkview High School’s Big Orange Jungle
You said, “I went to a rival school and played in the Big Orange Jungle at Parkview and that place was pretty cool looking.”
2) McEachern High School’s Cantrell Stadium
3) Marietta High School’s Northcutt Stadium
4) Atlanta Public Schools’ Lakewood Stadium
YOUR PICKS (STATEWIDE)

Carrollton's Grisham Stadium
1) Carrollton High School’s Grisham Stadium
You said, “Has got to be Grisham Stadium-Maddox Track at Historic Trojan Field in Carrollton, Ga. That place is immaculate. Turf field, chair back-fold down seats, jumbotron, 2 story fieldhouse and 2 story press box.”
2) Ware County High School’s Memorial Stadium
3) Valdosta High School’s Bazemore-Hyder Stadium
4) Elbert County Comprehensive High School’s Granite Bowl
5) Dublin High School’s Shamrock Bowl
OUR PICKS
1) McEachern High School’s Cantrell Stadium
Staff writer Larry Hartstein says, “Artificial turf, scenic backdrop, great atmosphere, rich tradition — what’s not to like?”
2) Brookwood Community Stadium
3) St. Pius’ George B. Maloof Stadium
5) Marietta’s Northcutt Stadium
And you might want to check out our list of Georgia’s best high school players in the AJC’s annual Super 11 or just take a look at the gallery of photos. Follow your favorite teams throughout the coming season on our high school sports page.

I know there are a ton of great HS stadiums in GA, but this is the Best of the Big A. Atlanta.
I have no affiliation with this school, but I’d have to say Lovett, with the stone stadium on one side of the field and a gorgeous stretch of the Chattahoochee at field level on the opposite side, is pretty special place to see a game.

Cleveland field in valdosta was once the best stadium. But since they put in artifical turf, a lot of the field’s tradition faded.
The best: Brodie field in tifton. See for yourself

Columbus Memorial, Brodie Field-Tifton, Savannah Memorial, Granite Bowl-Elbeton, and I have to say Newnan’s stadium is no where near the top. The visitors side is way to small and their field was a mess after the rain in last years game against Camden.

Mary Persons High School’s Dan Pitts stadium in Forsyth, Georgia has to be on the list. Named after the one time winningest high school coach in Georgia, the stadium has history and character. I can still remember seeing the players touch the gold bulldog statue as they ran down the hill from the field house to take the field while I was playing in the stands as a member of the marching band. Good memories!!

I agree, fields with tracks don’t count.( To far away from field)
Carpet, artificial turf, fake grass, whatever you want to call it…If it was ROLLED out and does’nt need water or a mower YOUR OUT TOO.

The Valdosta Wildcats Bazemore-Hyder Stadium at Cleveland Field ( AKA the one and only DEATH VALLEY) is the best around, Since 1913 they have played there. Martin Stadium at Lowndes is ok if you like concrete.

No doubt that running out of the pines at Billy Henderson Stadium at Clarke Central HS in Athens ranks right up there! But, all HS football is a great community happening and everyone should be proud of what this state produces for our young people.

Hands down, Northcutt Stadium home of the Marietta Blue Devils. Built out of stone, nestled in a residential area, just off the Marietta Square. Extra points land in homeowner’s back yards. No track, you sit right on top of the action.

McEachern is amazing! Sequoyah is great with the concrete bleachers, huge Jumbotron, and sunken field. I like Etowah’s turf, but hate the seating and parking.

I’ve been to stadiums from one end of the state to the other over the past 20-30 years and the two that stand out most have gotten a lot of love in this thread already, so I’ll just add to it. Bazemore-Hyder in Valdosta and The Granite Bowl in Elberton.
