YOUR PICKS
1) Chick-fil-A
You said, “None of the fancy places can touch their shakes!”
4) Zesto
5) OK Café
OUR PICKS
1) Rita’s
Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “The power-packed punch of mango ice with vanilla custard from this Philly-based chain (I like mine better without the cookies) will elevate your mood so much that you’re bound to burn some extra calories just by drinking it.”
2) 10 Degrees South’s “Don Pedro”
3) The Varsity’s F.O. (frosted orange)
Krispy Kreme is overrated. Go for the pistachio.
5) Dairy Queen
Specifically, the “banana cream pie dream pie” Blizzard

Sheridan’s Frozen Custard on Hwy 29 in Tucker. I am also glad the AJC picked Rita’s. Frozen custard is far superior to ice cream.

You guys are fools. Most of these products are not milkshakes. Milkshakes are made with ice cream. YOur moronic food critic admits that Rita’s does not sell ice cream but picks them as havingthe best of a product they don’t sell. Most of the other choices do not have ice cream in them.

These blogs are bogus, with employees and managers of these chain restaurants “stuffing the ballot”. Anyone who thinks burger king or mcdonalds has good milkshakes needs to lay off the drugs for a few days.

I think chain restaurants should be banned from these polls… how embarrassing for anyone visiting Atlanta. Just because its on ever street corner doesn’t make it the best.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Fuddrucker’s. Very good. But now I must try Flips. A nutella shake?! My waist is already in trouble!

I have had a shake from Hardee’s also Seth, and I will say that even though I don’t think they’re ATL’s best, they are pretty tasty. I love Steak and Shake’s Very Berry and Cookies and Cream. I’ve heard so much about Flip’s shakes, but aren’t they close to 10 bucks?

The coffee shake at the Counter off Mansell Road is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve driven from Sandy Springs just to get one of those, and a friend of my has driven there from Mechanicsville to do the same.

Woodys. Great food to. A lot of the other places listed here cannot say that. P.S.- The “real” ATL housewives are a disgrace. Foreclosures, bar room brawls, and no baby daddy in sight(KIM)…….yeah these people are Atlanta’s elite. More like our shame.

If you picked chic-fil-a as having the best milk shake, you must not have been to steak and shake.
they both have excellent breakfasts.

These best of lists consistently show that readers will vote for the local stuff like chick u lay and it implies your readers are a bunch of chain restaurant and fast food junkies. The polls are worthless ads

Flip has great shakes and decent burgers. A new burger joint has just opened up in Emory Village, though – a funny review is here: http://www.examiner.com/x-22925-Atlanta-Lunch-Examiner~y2009m9d25-Wonderful-World-Burgers–Are-They
