1) Rita’s
Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “The power-packed punch of mango ice with vanilla custard from this Philly-based chain (I like mine better without the cookies) will elevate your mood so much that you’re bound to burn some extra calories just by drinking it.”
2) 10 Degrees South’s “Don Pedro”
3) The Varsity’s F.O. (frosted orange)
Krispy Kreme is overrated. Go for the pistachio.
5) Dairy Queen
Specifically, the “banana cream pie dream pie” Blizzard

Lord knows when i’m hot and i want a refreshing cool down treat, i love yummy duck liver milkshakes @ FLIP. God, i can’t get enough of them,.. i take them by the pool and sip on them. I suck em down while watching wipe out (on ABC). I need more duck liver milkshakes!!!!! They are so tasty, and refreshing, and the perfect sweet treat.

I loved the peppermint chocolate milkshake at Chick-fil-a! I wish that it wasn’t seasonal because it was the best shake I’ve ever put in my mouth!

Chick-Fil-A & Steak & Shake are tied for the best, but the peach shake from Chick-Fil-A is awesome!

For all you fois gras milkshake lovers I have something in the pipeline that will blow you away. Get ready……Escargot Milkshakes. Escargot tastes good, Milkshakes taste good, who doesn’t want an Escargot Milkshake? Perfect way to let people know that you have taste, class and a sense of whimsey. I’ll have it on FLIP’s menu by August, so hopeful you can beat the heat with this wonderful creation.

Gah! I cannot believe more folks haven’t said OK Cafe in Buckhead! The most amazing milkshake in Atlanta is for sure the blueberry milkshake at OK Cafe! And… for the dude that nominated the Grill in Athens… good call. Tasty, but not really Atlanta.

A legitimate review:
Burger King is by far the best and most complex flavors at the right price.
Waffle Houses may be the best tasting, but you have to know the right waitress and she’ll meet you in back with the off the menu milkshake.
FLIP – Got krispy kreme shrapnel stuck in my throat while drinking their milkshake.
Steak and Shake – Not sure if they have milkshakes. I couldn’t find any mention on the menu.
Chick Fil A – Not bad, but I prefer taking their ice dream cups and beating it while in the sun until it become a milk shake. Trust me, it’s good.
Dairy Queen – The vanilla shakes are good but it depends on who is working the counter. One time I got snickers shrapnel stuck in my throat from drinking a milkshake. Why would someone do this?
McDonalds – The McFlurry is McFabulous
Walmart – Its OK, but the price is fantastic

Sorry, I just don’t get the Flip obsession (maybe b/c it’s a see & be seen place??). Tried the Nutella, Pistachio & Krispy Kreme & thought all 3 left a lot to be desired. I’d vote for Chick-fil-A, Johnny Rocket’s or Steak & Shake.

please delete all references to burger king, krystal, mcdonalds – those are not even milkshakes. they use fillers, not ice cream. DISQUALIFIED!!

Please don’t delete fast food milkshakes. Burger King is #1, but pretentious tools like RK don’t want to force Fois Gras Milkshakes on Atlanta.

The focus is on quality of the product here, guys…not which milkshake you’re willing to overpay for so it can make you feel “unique” and pretentious.
That said, no way McDonald’s and Burger King should even be coming close to the top of this list. Chik-Fil-A should, though….
