Best milkshake in and around Atlanta

YOUR PICKS

Chick-fil-A's hand-spun shakes

Chick-fil-A's hand-spun shakes

1) Chick-fil-A

You said, “None of the fancy places can touch their shakes!”

2) Steak and Shake

3) Flip Burger Boutique

4) Zesto

5) OK Café

OUR PICKS

1) Rita’s

Dining critic Meridith Ford Goldman says, “The power-packed punch of mango ice with vanilla custard from this Philly-based chain (I like mine better without the cookies) will elevate your mood so much that you’re bound to burn some extra calories just by drinking it.”

2) 10 Degrees South’s “Don Pedro”

3) The Varsity’s F.O. (frosted orange)

4) Flip Burger Boutique

Krispy Kreme is overrated. Go for the pistachio.

5) Dairy Queen

Specifically, the “banana cream pie dream pie” Blizzard

Burger King brings all the boys to the yard. They could teach you, but they’d have to charge.

Seems like a couple of orchestrated campaigns for BK and Flip.

Mort wins the prize. Flip opened one location in Dec 2008 and yet half of this comment board ranks them #1.

Don’t forget the great milkshakes at Shane’s Rib Shack. If you think our BBQ sucks, just wait til you taste our milkshakes.

Easily the Top 5, in random order

OK Cafe
Johnny Rockets
Steak n Shake
Chick-fil-a
The Grill (Athens)

Ranking them is a little more difficult – and belt busting.

Don’t listen to Shane. Moe’s knows milkshakes. Just get to the cashier and ask for it with a whisper into the Cashiers ear. I guarantee you will get the best milkshake of your life.

Burger King also rocks.

I love all of the fast food recommendations. Don’t any of you know the difference between a MILK-shake and a VEGETABLE OIL-shake?

My favorite is a chain, but at least it serves milkshakes: The Loop.

Burger king has the best milkshake in Atlanta hands down, but you have to ask for the special milkshake. Just wink at the cashier, lean in, and say I’d like the special shake. They’ll know. I guarantee you will have the best shake of your life.

While I love the waffle houses milkshakes, I am going to have to say that burger king has them beat by just a smidge.

Johnny Rocket’s and The Counter share top billing. None of the way-outness of Flip. Classic, perfectly executed shakes. ‘Nuff said.

I agree, Chick fil A makes a mean milkshake, but I’m surprised no one has mentioned Brusters. Quite tasty…

I really enjoyed the food at Flip, but their krispy kreme milkshake was too much for me to stomach. Waaaaaay too sweet, chunks of chewy donut coming through the straw…eww. If that’s your thing, go for it, but it’s not for me. (coming from a pregnant lady whose favorite show is top chef, thank you very much!)

O.K. Cafe has the best shake and malted shake in town. It is actually 1 1/2 shakes, since it is brought to you in the steel mixer container! West Pace Ferry @ I-75!

Best shake I have had in years was at a Krystal with their limited time only deal on Banana Split shakes. It was really good! Best burgers? Wings and Things in McDonough. Wings and Things has awsome onion rings too.
