Atlantans just can’t get enough Waffle House. Though it has scattered to 25 states, and now covers most of the lower half of the U.S. from Delaware to Arizona, it began in Avondale Estates. It’s one of the area’s most popular tourist destinations, but it’s also a favorite holiday destination for locals. It was a close race, but Stone Mountain Park narrowly edged out Lenox Square as your pick for the best place to see fireworks on the Fourth of July.
