Countdown to No. 1: Will No. 7 Nebraska get its revenge on Texas?

We continue our Countdown to No. 1 today with teams 6 through 10. I know some people will disagree on Nebraska at No. 7 but I think this will be a breakout year for the Cornhuskers under Bo Pelini.

I have Oregon at No. 8 and have noticed that some folks don’t have them in the Top Ten or ranked at all. Yeah, the Ducks lost QB Jeremiah Masoli but they have 18 starters coming back from a Rose Bowl team. And Chip Kelly is a really good coach.

So tell me what you think. We’ll have to Top Five on Friday to close out the week.

10. Iowa

**–It will be a good season if: The Hawkeyes can replace four starters on the offensive line and running back Jewel Hampton returns to form after sitting out last season with a knee injury. The schedule is set up with Penn State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State at home.

**–It will be a disappointing season if: Quarterback Ricky Stanzi can’t cut down on his interceptions after throwing 15 last season. Stanzi is a gamer and comes up big in big situations. But he also tries to force the ball into coverage.

9. Oklahoma

**–It will be a good season if: The Sooners win the Big 12 South.  The Sooners can do it if  quarterback Landry Jones picks up where he left off when he subbed for the injured Sam Bradford last season. Oklahoma must replace four first-round draft choices but the Sooners believe this will be one of their better defenses.

**–It will be a disappointing season if: Oklahoma focuses so much on the Oct. 2 game with Texas that it forgets that Florida State is coming to Norman on Sept. 11. In fact, the Sooners have three potentially tough non-conference games with FSU, Air Force and Cincinnati.

8. Oregon

**–It will  be a good season if: The Ducks win the Pac-10 again and go back to the Rose Bowl, despite the loss of quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. There have been some other offseason problems, including one with running back LaMichael James, who will be suspended for the firt game.  This is still a very good football team.

**–It will be a disappointing season if: Nate Costa doesn’t come through as the new quarterback. So much of what Chip Kelly does is based on the quarterback and his mobility.  Last season Costa subbed for an injured Masoli and completed 20 of 33 passes in a win over UCLA. But he has also had two season-ending knee injuries in his career.

7. Nebraska

**–It will be good season if: The Cornhuskers get revenge for last season’s controversial finish in the Big 12 championship game by beating Texas on Oct. 16 in Lincoln.  Nebraska could get another shot at Texas in the Big 12 championship game on Dec. 4. Beating Texas twice in one season and winning a championship would be a sweet way for Nebraska to say goodbye to the Big 12. Nebraska joins the Big Ten in 2011.

**–It will be a disappointing season if: Nebraska doesn’t win the Big 12 North. The Huskers are strong, even without the great DT Ndamukong Suh. And the Big 12 North is pretty weak.

6. TCU

**–It will be a good season if: The Horned Frogs beat Oregon State in the opener run through the Mountain West again and go to a BCS Bowl for the second straight season. Despite the loss of All-America DE Jerry Hughes, this looks like Gary Patterson’s best team since he’s been in Fort Worth.

**–It will be a disappointing season if: If quarterback Andy Dalton, the MWC offensive player of the year in 2009, struggles or gets hurt. Anything less than BCS bowl will be a disappointment for Horned Frogs.

This list should make the anti-SEC crowd quite happy.

No real arguments against any of them, but then again I don’t put much stock in pre-season polls.

Nebraska is overated…. name one person they have on offense…. just because you play in a division that’s projected to be weak this year, doesnt automatically make you a top 10 school.

Nebraska loses Sdu (however you spell it) and you expect them to be this high? If it was’nt for the 2nd pick in the NFL draft they wouldn’t have even been close in the Big 12 games. Yet, somehow they will be better this year without him. Oh, I forgot about the offense! Who exactly do they have that is so good to lead them this high. What a bunch of bologni!

So Carolina in the top 10????????? Arkansas is not allowed to be in the top 10! NCAA rules prevent any team being named a top 10 quailifyer that has a coward for a coach! Look it up! It’s in there! Arkansas is just lucky they are allowed to leave the state.

Let me guess who Tony will fall in love with tomorrow?

Alabama & Florida, perhaps?

Give me a break, neither will finish in the top 10.

Florida & Alabama could lose all 22 players, and writers owuld say “It’s Saba, It’s Meyer, they’ll be fine”

no they won’t. Florida & Bama will fall in 2010 (and stay down for years)and Georgia will rise.

I’d love to see Nebraska take the Big 12 title their final year. It would be sweet to take the trophy away from those greedy Texas folks as they walk out the door into the Big 10. Really would be poetic justice!
As far as the rankings, I would agree for the most part.
Guess that leaves Bama, Boise State, Florida, Ohio State and Texas as your top 5. Could you have a re-match of last year’s BCSCG predicted?

Nebraska is overrated and so is Texas (obviously they will be in the Top 5). I predict that OU will win The Big 12. The North division is terrible and has been for some time now.

With the Trojans ineligible for the conference title and Rose Bowl, the PAC 10 is down this year. Masoli had his problems but he will be tough to replace for the Ducks. My surprise team in the PAC 10 is Washington.

P.S.

Richt’s teams have finished in the top 5, 15 times since 1986, top 10, 19 times since 1986. 80% of the time, a team Richt coaches finishes in the top 10.

No team Richt’s ever coached, since 1986, has ever NOT finished in the top 10 2 years in a row, since 1986.

Last 2 times Richt had a season like 2009, it was 2001 & 2006. Both times, Richt responded with a top 3 finish the next season, #3 in 2002, #2 in 2007.

You’d have to be irrational to not pick Richt to finish in the top 10 in 2010. Certainly can do it, but Richt has a 100% track record over 2 year spans of getting a team into the top 10 over 24 years.

Tony said in his post, let me know what you think, I’m doing that.

It’s not what Saban’s done to me, it’s what he’s done to every team he’s ever coached. He’s the top 10 most hated person in all of sports.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Forbes-Nick-Saban-is-the-most-hated-white-man-i?urn=ncaaf-179913

He calls people names like “pimp”. His own players don’t like him, as the ESPN shows have pointed out.

If people want to act like Saban’s great, fine, even though he rarely even finishes in the top 10, and barely has a 700 win %, fine.

Richt’s in a different league. Almost 800 win %, his teams finish in the top 10 80% of the time.

9 Oklahoma – All the ESPN types are calling this one the BCS champion. Do I think they are the best or second best football team in the land? No. Do I think they will be ranked #1 or #2 in the land because of the system and their schedule? Probably.

8 Oregon – I think I like their coach, a lot. I’d say Oregon is the most likely to win the Pac 10 this year.

7 Nebraska – Oooo, now here is a team that will scare some people. These guys are going to have a hunger this year. That same hunger that Bama had last year.

The defense also has plenty of guys that have of playing not but not many starts. It would not surprise me in the least to see Bama win the SEC and another title.

Bama’s schedule is not easy but they have an off week and play a team in their 1st season in football ever before 2 of their 3 hardest games. Bama also has San Jose St. before Penn St. Besides when does Bama not have a target on their back?

Fred

August 19th, 2010

I don’t understand this trend over the last 10 years or so of ranking weak assed teams like TCU high in polls. Earlier in the decade it was put to rest when TCU had Oklahoma on their schedule. It’s kinda tough even for idiot journalists to rank a team in the top ten that just lost by 70 points……….. TCU solved that little probelm by refusing to play Oklahoma any more. Now they only have to go through their weak little conference and play some mid pack team from the weak Pac10 and they have it made.

The one with the potential to benefit from these false rankings right now is Oregon State. If they beat over ranked TCU and over ranked Boise State, they will end up at LEAST number 3 in the country by September 28th (assuming Boise State beats VTech, another perennial over ranked team). It’s just stupid.

OU is my second favorite team. I grew up on OU football. I had a cousin who started for them in the early ’70’s and won 2 Nat’l Championships. I say that only to preface my next remark. OU doesn’t belong in the top 10. My two favorite teams, UGA and OU have the same kind of coach: They will get you 10 wins most season with an occasional drop to 8, mostly through the awesome talent they attract, but they can’t get over the “hump” and get you a Nat’l Championship. Stoops took another coach’s team to a Championship his first year as head coach due to some awesome assistants, but they let and so did his chances at another Nat’l Championship.

I’m not sure I find any of the teams listed to be top ten caliber. Nebraska? pul-leassssssse.

Hey H Back,

You must be on crack based upon your dumb statements about Al & FL and then trying to throw GA in the same mix. GA is a lack luster program that has done nothing in 30 years. They have had many set backs and now seem to be on track with their new AD, but they are far from being a top 10 program.

Gators will win the East with ease in 2010 and GA wil be lucky to win 6 games this year! AL wins the West!

Enough Said!

Gee, Ugay is back with his mindless drivel. I’ll play once though…………….. UGA played in the Independence Bowl against Texas A&M and WON 44-20, winning the ACC Championship

What bowl game did Ga Tech WIN last year? Oh that would be NONE.

George Stein

Just to make sure folks are getting it right – when you allude to bowl games, you can’t say the #3 team in Conference X beat the #2 team in Conference Y, therefore Conference X is better/deeper. The bowls do not pick based of record or performance (usually). They pick based on who they think will put the most people in seats. It’s the reason South Carolina always gets a good bowl game if they are halfway decent.

Everyone here has to admit that the best thing about this stupid ranking system used to determine a “National Champion” is all the crap talk we get to do because of it…………….

If the teams that are ranked where they are actually had to PLAY each other, the results would be much different.

Oklahoma
Nebraska
Iowa
Oregon
Wisconsin
Miami (FL)
Penn State
Pittsburgh
LSU
Ga Tech
N. Carolina
Arkansas

That is the dumbest logic I have seen. No team ever could beat the 10 teams ranked below them if they played them. What you sec homers forget is the smaller schools don’t get the 4 and 5 star players that you get. So when you say if they played in our conf blah blah. If they played in your conf, they would get better recruits.

yellowjack,

The analysis and his predictions are two completely different things. The analysis focuses on the program, coaches, players, etc. for every FBS team. Tough to argue with these choices! To keep the scoreboard…So far you have made the mistake of having UGA too high. GT ranked too high (UGA should not be ranked unless around 24/25 – they will lose 4 or more; GT is too high…they will lose 3 or more) but your worst blunders are yet to come. No way Bama finishes top 5 this year. They are good. They are deep. But they still must replace too much defensively and playing 6 SEC teams that have the BYE week to prepare is simply asking too much! Bama loses in the West shocking seemingly everyone who failed to rationally approach the ranking process. Number 1 & 2 teams will not come from SEC this year. Indeed the SEC may be the 4th or 5th toughest conference this year. Just too much talent lost from last season. Lots of talent but it is mostly inexperienced.

also i echo johns comment above. right now if you dumped a team like TCU into the sec they probably wouldnt fare to well over the season because they dont have the depth etc. they are significantly better than most smaller schools however, and can (sometimes) play with the best of them on any given saturday for one or two games a year. if they were to join a major conference, they’d be able to recruit better players, and possibly be able to contend. utah will be a decent example of this over the next few years. i wouldnt be surprised to see them contending for the pac-10/12 within 5 years or so.

I don’t know about all that Sammy, but compared to YOU I certainly am. I’m typing this slowly so you can keep up. Who ever wins the LAST game is usually considered the Champion. Do you get that concept Sammy or did I use words that are too big for you? For instance, Alabama and Florida play each other this year in the regular season. One team will win. HYPOTHETICALLY, they will play each other in the Conference Championship game. THAT game is the one that counts for the conference championship, NOT the first one they play.

In actuality I was playing with the troll, Ugay, when I made my initial statement but apparently snagged a dumbass along the way (you). The comment was a taunt, a sarcastic retort. I realize now that such expressions are beyond your limited reason skills and I apologize for you having had to tax your tiny little mind so much replying to my sarcasm. I am so grateful for the heartfelt long message. As expected, when you are proven an idiot, you resort to personal attacks. It’s okay fred. I know you really are that intelligent when it comes to college football. Beating one team makes that team the conference champion according to fred. So now we must completely change who won what conference. And now it matters when you play the team. So if a team doesn’t play a team they lost to again, but said team goes on to win a conf champ, then the team they lost to is the champ! Just like what I wrote above! This is the way twisted fred sees things. What a warped mind this cretin has. I can’t wait to see who wins what conference this year. It is all so complicated with fred’s way!

Black Coffee & Bourbon,

I agree seems they are a decent team with all respect. But, just as USC and these other weak conferences, anyone can show up for one big game. The true test is the teams that play tough opponets week end to week out and sustain though injuries and the wear and tear of a tough conference schedule. USC or Boise might play one big ESPN gameday hyped up match and get beat up but, have all season to recover with easy teams. However, imagine them having to travel after a big game to the swap or death valley right after that to play.

2008 was johnsons first year. uga had two weeks to prepare and still lost.

honestly i think tech’s problem in bowl games isnt so much teams ‘figureing it out’, though im sure the extra teim helps opposing defenses. the offense relies a lot on timing and im sure the layoff makes the O a little rusty. that and the fact that iowa’s o line pretty much dominated us up front last year. but they did that against almost everyone they played. i think tech will be fine on offense again this year.

Between the 3 of them, it is over 900 pounds. With the outside LB’s catching on to the new blitz schemes, our D could be really good.

Fred

I don’t see a two loss team getting into the dance G8R, I think it will be hard for a 1 loss SEC team to get there. The growing resentment you mentioned is because the SEC teams trounce their opponents when they DO get in the Championship games. The other conferences aren’t as tough and they know it. They know that in order to win a National Championship, they HAVE to keep an SEC team out. With the writers pushing to do away with the bowl system, they feel that if they keep ranking weak sisters from weak conferences high that eventually one of them WILL get to the game. You could conceivably see a weak yet undefeated Ohio State play an equally weak, yet undefeated TCU, Boise, or Utah for the ‘Championship” because no one from the SEC, ACC, Big 12, or PAC 10 escapes the season without a loss.

Without a doubt G8r. That was a thing of beauty. It was the same when they put an over ranked hyped up Hawaii against Georgia a few years ago. The only reason they didn’t hang 70 points on them is because Richt won’t do that.

But at the same time, look how Utah beat Alabama a couple of years ago. That wasn’t a fluke that year. Utah really WAS that good. I had watched their games (because I was sick of hearing about them lol) and Utah was tough.

That’s why I was irritated to see TCU and Boise matched up in a bowl last year. I wanted to see them BOTH play a major BCS conference opponent so we could get a feel of how good they really are, not see them play each other.

OU looks like the darkhorse nc contender this year. They had an incredible rash of injuries last year with a lot of key players missing either the whole year or good portions of the season. And when they lost Sam Bradford in the 1st qtr of the Texas game they still only lost 16-13 and that was cause Jordan Shipley ran a kick back 80 yds for a td. Look for OU to be back with a vengeance. Probably won’t stop them from losing yet another bcs title game though- probably to an sec team.

Neb and Iowa- Neb.’s defense could be even better than last year even without Suh if that’s possible. Iowa has a great D too. Still I don’t think either of these teams can muster enough offense to win it all.

Oregon is the opposite of Neb. and Iowa. Great offense but not enough D to win an nc.

TCU- great football team but probably not enough overall depth and talent to win a bcs title against Bama, Fla, or Ohio State type talent.

Fred (”TCU solved that little probelm by refusing to play Oklahoma any more”) – you got your facts on backwards. It’s Oklahoma and the rest of the Big XII (save Texas) that doesn’t want to play TCU. TCU is constantly trying to schedule Big XII competition so they can continue to beat them and prove what a mistake it was for them being left out of the move from the SWC to the Big XII. Matter of fact, TCU reaches out to BCS conference schools for games and doesn’t have the luck in securing more desireable games because the “top tier” schools are afraid to schedule them. If you have a problem with their ranking, check their record against BCS schools over the past 5 years then come back and post some valid comments.

SSIgator,

That 72 Iron Bowl was unbelievable. And inexplicably the same AU guy blocked the punt both times and the same AU guy picked it up both times and took it for a td. The replays of the 2 plays look almost the same.

I had the same thing happen to me during bowl season on a UCLA bowl game several years ago except this time I was on the winning side. UCLA was covering and beating someone(can’t remember who) and covering comfortably by like 2 scores 2 minutes left. Well, this time the other team drives and scores a meaningless td with a minute left. I’m no longer covering on a $300 bet. They try an onsides kick. The UCLA guy on the front line snags the ball out of midair, the kickoff team completely overruns the play, and the UCLA guy runs it back 50 yds the other way for a td and all of a sudden I’m covering again.

Then the other team drives the distance with under a minute left and scores a td with a couple seconds left on the clock and all of a sudden I’m not covering again. Then they line up for an onsides kick. The same UCLA guy on the frontline snags the ball out of midair, the kickoff team overruns the play again, and the UCLA guy runs 50 yards again for a td with literally no time left on the clock. I cover and win the game. Unfreakingbelievable. I was going bonkers. I think it was 2003 because I racked up that year, won like $4,000 betting and won $800 on LSU in the bcs title game so I’m pretty sure it was 03-04 bowl season.

I can’t remember the team UCLA beat but I think it was a mid tier conference team like a UTEP or a Fresno State or someone like that-maybe a big 12 team. I can’t be the only one on here who remembers that game. If I am its only because unless you were betting on it it was a boring, irrelevant game and who would be watching a game with onsides kicks in the last minute or 2 with 1 team up by 2 scores. But they did show the replays over and over on ESPN.

I think it will be an undefeated big 12 (Texas or OU) or one loss big 12 team vs a once beaten big 10 team like Ohio State. Its possible that there could be a 1 loss sec team this year but I just don’t see it. There are so many good teams in the sec this year that I just don’t see a 1 loss team. I’m thinking the sec champ will most likely be a 2 loss team. I had chalked up Ole Miss as our only sure win this year and then when I read that they got Masoli from Oregon I put that one back in the either team can win column. There’s not one sec game that anyone can take for granted this year except possibly Vandy and we don’t play them.

That OU/Boise game was a doozie even if I was pulling for OU. But OU didn’t have a lot to play for. They looked almost like they didn’t want to be there kinda like Bama/Utah 2 years ago. Herby is pretty sharp but at the same time he’s an idiot sometimes lol. I remember a few years ago, right after they took strength of schedule out of the BCS equation he was talking about what a weak non conference schedule OSU had to go along with their weak Conference schedule. He says that they play no one and aren’t really that good, then he turns around and says that will schedule will help them go undefeated and get into the Championship game even though they don’t deserve to be there which he also admitted.

Tide4u2c

August 19th, 2010
4:45 pm

There is no reason to believe Auburn will win the west this year I mean they showed no signs last year of improvement unlike Saban’s first year at Alabama. Even with depth problems Alabama put it on Tennessee and barely lost to Georgia in OT by a field goal.

You could see glimpses of Bama’s future Saban’s first year.No team dominated Alabama either that year even games Bama lost were close tough games even LSU fans got a scare in the Bama/LSU game. Then even with depth problems the text book scandal hit and 4 players were out for the last 4 games still no team dominated Bama that year with depth problems.Yes Bama lost some close games that year and had an embarrassing loss to Louisiana Monroe but you could still see underneath the depth problems Bama faced there was improvenment just not enough horses yet.

Nobody seen that with Auburn last year the only positive thing Auburn fans might can cling to is that they are past their first year coach growing pains and are recruiting pretty good but that is about it. In no way have we seen signs that Auburn will suddenly turn things around and win the SEC west.

Lewis Grizzard

O.U. has Willie Martinez coaching Defense now, so you can rule them out for making it to the NC game.

Tide Rising

August 19th, 2010
5:04 pm

Auburn will be much better. They have a large senior class, they will have a little better depth this year, and it will be year 2 under their coaching staff which always helps. Overall I still don’t think they have enough to win the division just due to depth. But I can see them winning 9-10 games perhaps and beating several good teams and having an upset loss or 2 along the way.

I will say that in Saban’s first year when we went 7-6 you could tell we were going to be much better in 08 simply by looking at those 6 losses. No one beat us that year by more than 7 pts and every game was in contention. That’s what you look for the next year when you look for teams that could jump from a 4 to 6 loss year to a possible unbeaten or 1-2 loss year.

If a team got blown out at least a couple of times in one season they are very unlikely to all of a sudden reach a championship level in 1 year. I think AU got blown out only once last year but otherwise most of their losses were close-Bama, UGA, Only LSU game was ugly or did someone else beat AU bad last year?

Fred

Tide4u2c : I never saw signs last year that LSU had an offense and I haven’t read anywhere anything to indicate that has changed. All last season I saw them creep up the ranking and kept asking WHY? They can’t score. Auburn on the other hand, while inconsistent, showed some signs of life. I hate to say that because I really detest Auburn.

Lewis: Thanks for the link. I feel better now that i know he’s just an assistant, not the D-Co-ordinator. Not much better though. WHile Stoops is an awesome D guy, he’s also the head coach and is on the sideline doing the whole team, not up in the box just watching the D. He has shown in the past ten years that he can’t make defensive adjustments from the sideline. If you nail his defensive game plan in the first half, you are going to kill him in the second half. Bob Miles proved that when he was at Oklahoma State. What’s worse is that once one team finds the weak spots in his defense, Bob doesn’t change it, so every team that follows knows how to beat him.

As an OU fan, it’s embarrassing to watch. It’s embarrassing to watch them year after year get into BCS bowl games when you know they are going to lose. Oh well, maybe God spoke to him in the off season and gave him a revelation………..

When in the history of football has an asst coach got any glory for a championship. they only make limited decisions. Bobby Bowden is the reason for the 1990’s championships at FSU. He is the one who made the decisions. UGA cant even win the SEC east. Try winning your own division before you mouth off about a national championship. Coach Richt over the last 5? How about Saban over the last 5? 6 wins in 2006. 7 wins in 2007. I can’t remember a year where Coach Richt only got 6 or 7 wins.

Has any coach in the SEC this decade finished in the top 10 more than Richt? Nope. Wierd not seeing Richt in pre-season top 10’s. Not sure why sports writers threw in the towle on Richt. Maybe they should consult Meyer who schedules his bye week for Richt, not Saban.

CMR stacks up pretty well against any college footbll coahc in history. 1 of 7 coaches in the history of college football to win 90 games in his first 9 seasons.

Brantley hasn’t really played against tough competition, in high school, or as a starter in a college game. Grantham and Smart will rock his world.

Chavis & Ellis will rock Brantley pretty good too, so will FSU, they’re defense will be much better.

Is it true that Alabama’s defense gave up 13 TD’s in a Spring scrimmage? Ouch! Maybe they’re a bit oveerated. Thought Smart’s defense almost got cooked by a freshman QB last year in the BCS Championship game. Barely won. Saban’s not as good as people think. Grantham’s better than Saban. Saban agrees–he tried to hire Grantham to run his D, two different times, at Miami recently, Grantham spurned Saban that time, and then way back at Mich St, Grantham spurned Saban then also.

I get a kick reading the responses to the fact Nebraska is a top 10 team in 2010. I have lived in the Atlanta area for the last 20 years and I have enjoyed the fact that the area is a great conglomeration of different college fanbases. There are many knowledgable fanbases around the country but the fans from the SEC are not one of them, GENERALLY speaking, of course. GENERALLY speaking, SEC fans are aware of what is happening in the South, but not very aware of the rest of the country. The simple fact is that Nebraska does not lose a step defensively from 2009, despite the loss of Suh. Nationally, Nebraska will have the most oppressive defense in 2010 and they will merely require an average offense to be in a BCS game. It is time for SEC fans to come to grips with the fact that NEBRASKA IS BACK and they are not going anywhere while Bo Pelini is Head Coach!

This very well may be true but at this point it is just speculation on your part. I still think the Huskers are overrated (of course speculation on my part) but I do think you have a solid coach in Pellini snd the program is headed in the right direction.

Nebraska is not overrated… despite losing big Suh they have Jarred Crick coming back and Baker Stienkuler a former 5 star recruit filling Suh spot and add standout D end from last year Pierre Alan that is a stacked front line… they have a first round draft pick at corner in Prince Amukamara.. all very good players. Then there is a young but very talented line backer core in Will Compton and Eric Martins… the safety positions are really the only questionable spot but with a beast coach like Bo i’m sure they will be fine. On the offensive side you have a much improved line returning both tackles and a guard then you add 2 great running backs with Helu and Burkhead and as far as the quarterback position goes i think you can look for Zac Lee to have a good season as he will be healthy and also have a year of experience under his belt… cant forget Niles Paul a fantastic play maker at wide out. look for nebraska to stay in the top 10

Well to the folks that were asking about what weapons Nebraska has on offense, try this out. Niles Paul, and eletrifying receiver/punt and kick returner. Roy Helu Jr., an incredibly quick back with excellent vision and acceleration through holes. Rex Burkhead, Sophomore running back that is more of a throwback NU running back, quick through holes and a power runner. And forget about the Blackshirts, even without Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska is stacked with big time playmakers with a rip your head off attitude. Be Scared!

You UGA fans are hilarious. Each year you think you have such great teams built on great tradition, yet you take every chance you get to trash the program when they play poorly as well as trash other schools.. Ever thought that maybe UGA is not very good? What tradition? They won a national championship in 1980 on the back and legs of Herschel. 30 years ago. Schools like Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska have the tradition as well as multiple national championships since UGA won theirs. Before you trash any of these teams, or the Big XII, take a long look at yourself and the SEC.

Tony, -0- chance the Sooners overlook FSU. In Norman there is already huge buzz for this game. Not saying FSU can’t beat OU… they are talented and dangerous enough as it is. I guarantee you the players already know that. And if they don’t, you know Stoops will imbue his team with suitable respect.

Enter your comments here Nobody stomped Neb last year CBS hires Mike Leach, They lost a total of 4 games and each loss was less than double digits. Any given saturday?? Suh will be missed, but he had help. Look for the BIG RED in the final game. Neb kept it under their helmet that their QB was injured for what, most of the year? All that will matter is the final score. They will return to dominance. It wont be a suprise, weve been there B4 more than a few times.
