Let’s talk Bama-Texas

Kickoff is less than 20 minutes away and I’m picking Alabama to beat Texas 24-13. An Alabama victory would give the SEC it’s fourth straight national championship.

I’ll share a few thoughts as the game unfolds. I’ll be interested to read your take on the game .

Let’s start here. I just don’t think Texas is going to be able to block Alabama’s defensive front well enough to give quarterback Colt McCoy any room to operate. Am I wrong?

Hey Pigskin, it wouldn’t be much different with McCoy in there, but Texas can can always hang their cowboy hat on that excuse.

Texas trying to go back to the hurry with some success but the Freshman is not reacting with Colt’s precision. Lets hope he does not find his stride.

I wish that McCoy hadn’t gotten hurt. You hate to see anyone get hurt in a game. I remember back in about ‘88 Bama’s QB went down and they had to bring in some guy named Hollingsworth. He did pretty good. Texas just made a big play. This game ain’t over.

I agree offense had issues this year, but my take is we were way to weak at QB. I hate to take a shot a Cox, but he never developed and Richt made a mistake not playing one of the Freshman.

I remember on several occasions where Moreno and T. Jones sealed games for us in the 4th qtr

The TV boys are watching their ratings plummet now as the bands are on the field and people are tuning this game out. Unless your from Bama their aint much left to watch really. This could’ve been a great game. Too bad.

Wow, Texas just doesn’t have it with or without McCoy. Tide will win big and will put any SEC doubts to bed.

Too bad “many” teams do not give their freshman some game time. One man goes down, and its failure. That is not team play!

Brent called the President of Texas Tech an Alabama grad. Looking at Kirby for Head Coach at Tx Tech.

If Kirby really is interviewing for the head coach job at TT, then we don’t need him becuase it will only be a year until he moves on up. We’d love to have him, but unless he is going to come and be the Coach in Waiting, we will need to go elsewhere.

It’s always a great game when Mack Brown and Texas gets STOMPED.

Who would want a close game?

Texas pass defense in the first half was very impressive. But then, passing is the bread & butter of Big 12 football. They not only had a good rush, their secondary coverage made it work.

If they try to shut down Bama’s running game in the second half, then the passing game will come open.

Yeah, too bad. Fish like the idiot that created this blog will always use that an excuse. Man up and admit you were wrong regardless of the reason. Other men will come to your defense and admit Texas was not the same but let them do it, not you Tony.

Kirby Smart seems to have become a hot commodity. Kind of like Muschamp.

Smart is a good coach. If he plans to leave, then he should be able to say so tomorrow. If he does leave, I wish him well – except whenever he’s coaching against The Tide!
