Let’s talk Bama-Texas

Kickoff is less than 20 minutes away and I’m picking Alabama to beat Texas 24-13. An Alabama victory would give the SEC it’s fourth straight national championship.

I’ll share a few thoughts as the game unfolds. I’ll be interested to read your take on the game .

Let’s start here. I just don’t think Texas is going to be able to block Alabama’s defensive front well enough to give quarterback Colt McCoy any room to operate. Am I wrong?

Congrats Bama, just don’t sing that stupid, “We beat the hell out of you song” You didn’t beat the hell out of anybody.

Yeah, the only people beat up were the Texas QB’s. Why didn’t the Texas offensive line block?

Congrats Tide!

…not to knock the team, they are the best in the land….but to score another TD with 47 seconds left on the clock rather than take a knee speaks volumes about Saban.

Most classless act I have seen; hope other college coaches saw it. Spurrieresque.

Hey True,

You saw Saban’s face after the gatorade. You think he is happy with this performance. Check that. He is being interviewed now. What a canned response to the question of the NC. Not believable. He is not proud of this team. No way. Not truly proud when it should have ended 42-12.

Tony, a couple more wins and they might as well retire the trophy to the SEC. Texas sure deserves alot of credit for hanging in with a true freshman QB and it’s a shame that we don’t know what the result would have been had McCoy not gone down. But give Bama alot of credit too because they played lights out in the SECCG to get there. Now it will be interesting to see how they react with all the pressure to repeat next year. I’m sure all the experts will pick them and Bama fans will certainly think that’s “it’s in the bag”. We know all about that in Gainesville. Heavy is the head that wears the crown….

Last call. Jesus, everyone I bring up the game with, will discount the win as they should. So, I won’t be talking about this mythical NC. Not worth the flack I’ll get. Thanks Saban for a very hollow win.

See with McCoy out, Saban had to legitimize the game by scoring alot and he didn’t. So now the what ifers will be out in full force.

Still think the Texas mistake just before halftime cost them the game. Otherwise they probably have the lead late and trying to run out the clock instead of going the length of the field.

Of course Mack Brown and assistants not known for effectively using the clock (see conference CG).

Both teams should be proud of their teams…hope we’ll be there one day.

Saban deserves all the credit bringing them so far so quickly; still wish he wasn’t such a pompous ******* and called off the dogs on the 2 yard line with 47 seconds left and up by 10.

SECCG winner looks like an automatic invite to this game.

What a classless POS Nick Saban is… Take a knee buddy. No need for the last touchdown. Mack Brown has every right to be PISSED. No class Nick. Zero.

Third year in a row the SEC is the home of the national champion! Getting to be a regular event. Why do the Tech fans think that the ACC is on par with the SEC? They are not even close in comparison!

Willie Martinez

January 8th, 2010

illusion, of course, Texas was trying to score before the interception. they wanted to win the game, no matter how unlikely it was at that point. Bama had already won the game, and there was no time for Texas to score twice by that point. It was a definite case of running up the score. No way about it.

Newnan, there at most 3 teams right now in the SEC who are good enough to win a championship, and your dawgs aren’t one of them. Other than the top, the ACC compares pretty well to the SEC. And who knows what the future may bring. All trends end sooner or later; just ask the Big Ten

By the way Bama fans, be prepared for a silly season next year. I know you and Auburn do that every year but be prepared for many of the idiots on this blog to make comments about anything and everything no matter how absurd it is. If your QB gets a concussion, expect all these idiots to turn into medical experts overnight and offer their “professional advice” They will question how your coach could ever play him again. They will accuse your coach of being a cold harded snake who only cares about winning and not the well being of the player, it doesn’t matter what the REAL experts say. And if your coach even mentions a pro team in passing, they will say he’s going to bolt at any second because that’s really the job he dreams of. And if he decides to run the ball at the end of the game and just let his players play, they will accuse your coach of being classless and running up the score. These are some of the things you will hear the losers (’cause that’s exactly what they are) say. Mark my words…

Tebow would have been out there with one arm. Mack Brown just said post game colt was in alot of pain at halftime, yet after the game colt said he felt nothing in his arm. at least they can get their stories straight.

so it’s not possible to be in pain one minute, and 45 minutes later to be numb? Sure wouldn’t want you for my doctor. But I do agree about Tebow. It’s entirely possible that the decision for McCoy not to return was made by his daddy.
