The Advocate, todays paper:

"PREDICTION

While this is not the 2007 BCS National Championship Game, today’s game is still a big game in LSU coach Les Miles’ five-year tenure. The motivation for the Tigers comes in all shapes and sizes – Senior Day, a Cotton Bowl berth on the line, a need to avoid a late-season tailspin for a second straight year and the desire to rally around their embattled coach. LSU’s defense has faltered a bit down the stretch against Alabama and Ole Miss and faces the challenge of an offense potentially more explosive than either of those. On the flip side, the Tigers offense tangles with a defense that is as vulnerable as any they’ve seen all season. A healthier Jordan Jefferson, a strong dose of resolve and a myriad of inspiration should give LSU just enough of an edge in another SEC nail-biter.

LSU 30, Arkansas 28

Randy Rosetta "

In the same article, the coaching edge was awarded to Arkansas. This is
scathing commentary in Baton Rouge.

hopefully, at this time next year, my bayou bengals will be working out a deal for tuberville. a proven s.e.c. coach who has had a year off to refresh and reflect. a proven winner who i believe to be much less of a crap shoot than a lot of other popular names. we all know that no coach is a guarantee.

At UGA, keep Richt and give him one more year to turn this awful team around but fire Mike Bobo, Willie Martinez and all the other useless coaches who are coaching out of their league. Get some experienced coaches in the program who can teach discipline and fire to the team for next year. This is absolutely the worse UGA team I have seen in 50 years.

Coachspeak...their is a big difference from going from Bowling Green to Utah. And Utah to Florida.....from going to Notre Dame from Florida. The first two were a step up moves for Meyer (and Meyer and his wife said at the time that the Florida move would be their last one of choice). A Notre Dame move would be a big step down for Meyer, with no secure future. Meyer will be a legend at Florida, bigger than Spurrier. No way Meyer goes to Notre Dame. He would be a complete fool to do so, and Meyer is no fool. Plus, he is loaded with talent and will have the best recruiting class in America this year.
