Atlanta Gator @

Congratulations on providing a very honest and intelligent assessment of this weekend's games. Regarding the Tennessee vs. Auburn game, it will be interesting to see how functional the Malzahn offense will be when exposed to the pressure of Kiffin's defense.

It has looked impressive thus far, but I don't know if it has really been tested against a solid defensive squad. I believe that Auburn was fortunate to play MSU early in the season. The Bulldogs appear to have made more progress than any other team in the SEC as the season has progressed. This Auburn offense is very complex with a lot of 'moving parts'. That's why Houston Nutt wouldn't allow Malzahn to implement his scheme at Arkansas. He knew that he had two of the best running backs in the league and he wasn't going to be denied the opportunity to go out and play smash-mouth football.

If Tennessee's defense is able to interrupt the Tiger's fast pace of execution, then I suspect that the Auburn offense will be knocked out of sync and will have a very hard time recovering their poise. Judging from their performance against Florida, I think that the Vols have the capability to throw a wrench into the gears and bring this highly sophisticated offensive machine to a grinding halt. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Being a Bama fan, I don't have a dog in this fight. It would be better for the West Division if Auburn wins it. I just have my doubts about whether the results of Auburn's first four games can translate into sustained success as they encounter the red meat of their SEC schedule.

Auburn fans have every right to be pleased with what Gene Chizik has done so far in his first season on the plains. The Auburn program was in total disarray in the wake of Tommy Tuberville's exit and Coach Chizik deserves credit for turning things around and getting them headed in the right direction -- but it is a long season. This Tennessee squad has it's own shortcomings to deal with, and the lack of a functional quarterback is paramount among them. Still, I suspect that their defense is capable of presenting the greatest challenge that Malzahn's Tiger offense has yet encountered. Auburn can't win this game if they can't put points on the board. It's not like their defense has been pitching shut-outs. I can see the Vols finding the end-zone once or twice, even if they don't allow Crompton to do anything but hand the ball off all day long. As a matter of fact, I think that would be my offensive game plan if I were in the unfortunate position of being Tennessee's Offensive Coordinator.

MoDawg I do appreciate you recognizing my intellegence even though I made no claims in that realm. As for M.........................well it sounds like he needs to lay off the crack pipe just a bit. As for you it is time to accept the reality of being a UGA fan. Your program is second tier and with a few brief exceptions it always has been and most likely always will be. Speaking of which I have a great idea for your new bloging name.......2 & 6..............what do you think? Now be kind when you respond b/c I actually gave credit for that 1942 NC that you losers dreamed up a few years ago. I wish I could pull for LSU to rip ya'll a new one this weekend but CLM is a bigger D-BAG than you!!

[...] Tony Barnhart has mentioned that there been some chatter that Miles has been biding his time with über talent Russell Shepard and intends to unleash him this week. Les is a gambler, but giving a significant role to a true freshman quarterback in an SEC road game seems like a stretch even for him. But what do I know? It’s not like this season’s gone according to plan so far.
Are you kidding me? you have no leeway to rip on "LSWHO"They shredded your yellow maggot team apart with a TERRIBLE defense last year and spanked you guys 38-3. This is AFTER you beat the same UGA team we lost to. So therefore your LSU-UGA "insight" = nothing.

P.S. you will not rush all over state. especially with a "triple option" LSUs horrible running game couldnt even run it to the outside with the record breaker trindon holliday on them. I tell ya, they may be state,,,butu they sure as heck arent "slow" to close your outside gaps.

VolMan, it doesn't matter if you shut down Bama's offense if you are worn down by a very physical team thru 4 qtrs. Tennessee's O will be shut down by Bama's D mark it down. No way you can run on Bama and they will crush your QB. I promise Bama will outscore you by more points than Florida did. Bama is better than Florida by far, you will see.

You may be right about UGA gettin' beat tho.
