Fulmer is an excellent, highly regarded HFC throughout the South and not just in the SEC. I could see him going to North Carolina State;O'Brien took over the Wolfpack, coming down from Boston College and has not been performing as hoped. NC State is a major southern school, next door to his beloved Tennessee. As Butch is rebuilding Carolina nicely, I can see NC State begin to look around for another HFC to compete against him. Then there is the matter of Spurrier hanging it up at the end of the year. and at age 62 that may be likely. South Carolina may be a good fit for Fulmer.

Phil hired a OC and I thought it would take a couple years to get going. He didn't get it. Magybe it was just time. He is a good man I think. Could be Tennessee's time nexted.

Fulmers brain has too much orange in it to be a decent coach anywhere else and he was only barely decent at Tennessee. He certainly had to depend on help from other schools beating each other for Tennessee to occasionly top them

I cannot believe all of the sob stories for Johnny Majors. He was a drunken sot and got what he deserved. The President of the Univ told him to recover from his med problems and he basically ignored him. His arrogance and stupidity is what got him fired. Fulmer was just the interim coach and was not a back stabber. Perhaps you that think this way should get your facts straight before smearing Phil this way. Fromm someone familiar with UT Athletics. The Tom Elam Family.
