The SEC’s graduation rate for athletes is terrible. Of course the goal is “win at any cost”. Too bad most athletes don’t graduate at the rate some of the Big 12 athletes do. By the way, how many Academic All-Americans has Georgia produced?

thanks Tony–love the academic reference–But competitively, academically, and financially the SEC has never been better than it is right now–…academically??? C’mon, no one is really interested in drinking that kool-aid. To suggest that somehow the academic program is dependent upon athletic dollars is ludicrous. And btw, lovely of you to mention the marriage of Slive’s daughter. For a big guy, you fit in his back pocket pretty nicely.

The numbers come from Stassen.com and you can look them up for yourself. Also, the numbers differ because some include or don’t include Tech’s time in the SEC and Carolina’s time in the ACC. That is why they are off.

Go to Stassen.com and not only will it give you the same breakdown but it will list individual games.

The phantom “NUMBERS” listed by Rising Tide are funny; the total number of SEC vs. ACC games is 871 while the total number of ACC vs. SEC games is 1139.

It is hard to believe numbers like these when the total games played do not even come close to adding up……….did Rising Tide think he could just list a bunch of random stats and think GT fans would take the numbers as the truth. More lies and mis-information to support an inflated opinion of the most over-rated conference in the nation (The SEC)!! I have no doubt many or most of the blind (sometimes ignorant of the truth) SEC fans take these numbers as absolute facts.

SEC is the #1 OVERRATED conference!! So freak’n top heavy and the bottom half is so weak in the SEC. The “SEC is sooo tough to play every week” chant is an absolute lie and a complete JOKE!!

The actual reason the SEC can not be slowed down by any other league is simply because the SEC has a strict plan to schedule the absolute weakest out of conference schedule possible. SEC fans should be embarrassed by the out of conference teams; the only reason most (maybe all) of the decent-to-good out of conference games are scheduled is because of automatic rivalry games.

It seems to be working well for the SEC, but only because the sports media LOVES to talk about how strong the SEC teams are and does not expose the conference for the VERY weak schedules nearly all of the SEC teams play each and every year.

Go GT and I can’t wait for some College Football!!

Tide Rising. Thanks for the stats…numbers don’t lie. I don’t know why this gets argued all the time. The SEC is a better conference top to bottom, bottom to top. Now lets all move on and spot the damn ball! 45 days!
